Dude, you really did misunderstand what he was saying. He wasn't directing anything negative towards you. He was making a facetious observation on how so many people think LEDs are too costly. He even explained that.

I have a LED light I purchased off of allibaba
800W 10 cob cxb3590
I can turn off half the cobs and run it at 400W
pulls 810w from the wall
6.91 amps

I purchased the light with the intentions of putting it in a 5-3 or 6-4 tent.
I'm on my third cycle in my 2-4 as my production exceeded expectations .
I paid just under $1000 usd plus shipping

There's also a hidden bonus in building your own, or buying a lamp that's serviceable. The frame and heatsinks will last practically forever.
Figuring in the cost of those passive sinks, wondering what is necessary to get a good temp. Is it worth it to oversize? Spending X amount more might only get you another 5 LPW. But that's an extra 5 LPW for an indefinite time period. There's good logic in spending more than you need to in cooling.
The $1800 dollar lamp I mentioned, could be built today for about $900. Could be upgraded for the cost of cobs and drivers, 23 Vero 18 = $201. Drivers = $250. So half price. 4-5 years down the road you can "build a new lamp" for about half price and that can happen every 5 years for practically your whole life.

Everyone else in this thread clearly picked up that his comment was actually about people who complain that LEDs cost too much. It was, in fact, a supportive post. A friendly post.
