Gorilla seedbank review

I have used Gorilla several times in the past with success. NOT this time though. On Dec.1 2017 I placed an order and on Dec. 4th sent CASH with USPS registered mail using the address AS INSTRUCTED. On Dec 13 and 14 delivery of my cash mail was attempted but no success. I went on vacation the 15th hoping everything would work out and that somebody at Gorilla would accept my registered mail and my seeds would be arriving soon. Just returned today the 23rd and discovered that my mail was never accepted and my CASH is gone. Why such problems accepting their mail? I just sent an email to Gorilla to try to resolve the issue, but my advice is DO NOT SEND CASH even if registered!! Surely the Postal Service and Gorilla will blame each other, and I will be out of luck. Unless this is resolved I will be looking to Attitude for any future seeds. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE Will keep you informed if this gets resolved.

Stuff does happen with the mail on occasion, but if you sent it USPS Registered mail then you will have insurance on your mail sent. Contact USPS and give them the tracking # and they can go from there on tracking your package down or refunding your insurance amount. ALWAYS get the insurance for this exact reason if it isnt included in your shipping method. Though I've never had issue with them, the Gorilla seems to be a stand up bank and if there is an issue, they will make it right.

USPS will not insure cash so i told them it was a document and they replied that they will only insure it for the value of the paper the document was written on. Crazy huh? So since i told them it was cash, then a document, i wasnt about to tell them it was yet something else that was hopefully insured....... so you might think you can insure your cash but not what USPS told me............Send cash at your own peril

By the way, this is not a "lost mail" and subsequent insurance issue. The fact that Gorilla didnt accept registered mail in a timely fashion caused this problem. USPS probably would tell me that attempts were made to deliver and to contact the UK postal system, I dont know. Not here to debate how to or whether to insure a piece of registered mail, i certainly tried. I just want anybody considering sending them cash to know that this happened to me. USPS has a standard insurance amount, not sure how much (50$ ?), which wouldnt help much since i sent 300$ for my order. Like I said earlier, no doubt the Postal system and Gorilla will blame each other. Meanwhile I have no seeds and my cash is gone and valuable time lost.....thanks for your input though. We'll see how Gorilla responds !

By the way, none of the insurance issues changes the fact that Gorilla didnt accept registered mail in a timely fashion and caused this problem. Ok, let me get this straight. You came on here to slander Gorilla and to make sure everyone knows not to send cash payments etc....but nobody can make sure you know to spring the extra $2.79 in insurance to cover your $300 purchase that you sent off to another country? Also, dont send a "document". Send it in a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box with added insurance adjusted to the amount you are sending and when you fill out the declaration just put down "jewelry" in the description.
Who is debating here? I offered a suggestion since Ive been sending cash in the mail since the 90's, but what do I know?
Good luck.

I read this thread awhile back and had to dig it back up because I just tried to make my first order with Gorilla ..Lets just say that went over like a led balloon unfortunately. It seems as if Gorilla is a well enough straight forward bank with great prices, freebies, shipping, etc. and decided I would give them a try since it was one of only a few banks I have yet to try out. I was looking to re-stock on Nirvina NL so ordered a 10 pack , came to approx $25 ( Nice Price ). I was going to wait until after the Holidays to make my order but saw that they had a real nice Holiday Bonus Deal as well as Free Seeds for completing purchase with Bitcoin. So I buy my bitcoin and make my order. The next few days order status remained Open / Unpaid according to site ( no big deal, figured as much with Holidays and all ) however according to my Bitcoin account transaction was completed and funds were no longer in my wallet, However this Bitcoin payment option ended up costing me $33 in " network fees " on top of the $25 I paid for the seed order. I was not happy @ all with the insane BS Coinbase fee of more than 50% to begin with , but figured with all the freebies I would get with the Holiday Special + The Bonus seeds for purchasing with Bitcoin it would not be that bad considering all I was getting for the order, But getting screwed on the fees was just the beginning.. When my order status never changed I sent a support ticket and got a reply that " My payment had timed out and that I would have to request a refund from Coinbase and then re-send the payment via another order. Sounded easy enough until when going to submit the refund I was told that " I would be refunded the cost of my payment minus the network fees which were more than the order itself " . So it's looking like I got screwed out of $33 in fees it costs me to send payment to them because " it timed out " , SMH ! Not sure how that ranks on customer affairs to get beat with payment methods , but I did exactly as instructed to do to make the payment and from my end transaction was complete I even got an email telling me that it was complete. So now because Gorilla pissed around taking the payment or whatever and it " timed out " . They tell me to I will need to resend payment and that will cost me another $30+ in fees which would in turn cost me around $75 to get a $25 order paid via Bitcoin. If I was to send the payment again and whatever time expires before " timing out " expired again , I would have then more the less threw away $60 for nothing , I already did $33 !!! So now not only did I not get my seeds ordered from them but now got screwed out of $33 for even trying. Needless to say if I had any idea that paying via Bitcoin would be such a rip off fiasco I would have sucked up the 2 damn seed Bitcoin Bonus and saved myself from getting ripped off thirty dollars for placing an order that I will never receive anyway. As of the quality of seeds, shipping , etc from Gorilla unfortunately I will never be able to tell you, because I for one surly am not going down that road again and chancing even throwing away more $$ on nothing !!! My personal advice to anyone thinking about purchasing seeds from them, best look into your payment option's very closely and stay as clear from shady Bitcoin as you possibly can. I hope this helps someone else in the future as I sure would have liked to have known about this " timing out " and many other details concerning the Bitcoin payment method, had I been informed , this post would not exist. Hope others have better luck :(

Wow even got better with the " monkey business " on this payment method in the past hour . I just got the " REFUND " that Gorilla support told me get so I could resend the payment as a new order. I already ate the 60% + in network fees to send the payment and now I was refunded exactly $9 and some change from a $25 order !!!!!! So now as stands I paid $33 for transfer fees ( GONE - VANISHED ) for an order that was not completed and now was refunded $9 out of $25 in bitcoin I sent them, SMH. So totaled up I paid $50 for absolute nothing just for trying to send $25 to them via bitcoin. Started with $67 in bitcoin less than a week ago and now have $10 in my bitcoin wallet thanks to trying to make a bitcoin payment to Gorilla. Unless you have so much $$$ you don't mind pissing it away I would highly recommend not making a purchase with Gorilla ( especially via bitcoin ). If " The Gorilla " wouldn't have bent me over and stuck it to me the way he did and they all the sudden stop answering my support tickets when I tried to get answers on why I spent $50 for ZERO beans.. I may have attempted to try using a alternative payment method. But instead it's one of those typical deals where Gorilla blames Coinbase and Coinbase blames Gorilla. To me its simple , I blame them BOTH neither can give me a straight out legit answer as to why I made a should be simple transaction on a payment that was never received or processed yet I was charged $50 for it. The icing on the cake was after telling Gorilla about this and explaining that re sending the payment would cost me another $30 + in transfer fees again ..glad i did not take them up on that or I would now be damn near out of $100 instead of $50. This was nothing more than internet robbery , I'm out of $50 , my order not complete , and worst is no beans what so ever to show for it . May want to think again before paying any attention to the hype on deals etc to pay via bitcoin .. It's a trap and good chances are you will be the next one madder than a Gorilla over how they handled it !!! There are simply just too many seed banks I have already used without any issue especially one as messed up as this ( them in basic saying , too bad so sad .and all this for a 10 pack of $25 Nirvina NL . SMH ) does not work @ all for me. Any other bank I have dealt with would have handled this much differently and even have for much less issues that this, Since they have stopped replying to my support tickets when shown the reality of what happens when trying to order from them via bitcoin ..I am curious to see what kind of excuse or whatever they can come up with to justify this obviously shady outcome for this order.

@GorillaSeedBank ...lol hello? No response? To moi nor WildWoodFlower?

has anyone else recieved their promo beans? I'm glad I gave them a safe address, and not any money. Unlike wildwood, I'm really out nothing, just free beans. Whew.

I was just sent another reply from coinbase.com that reads as follows :

Hello, to describe:
We fix the exchange rate by the 15 min limit, to prevent being affected by the extreme volatility of the currency. If you use a service or wallet that does not broadcast the payment fast enough, it can not be accepted..
We process the refund automatically, therefore the fee added is automatically counted due to the network requirements. These days, it is simply not optimal to pay small payments in BTC, we are already working on LTC implementation.

With this new information of where the problem started. In defense of Gorilla Seed Bank , I appears to me that this problem traces back to coinbase.com as the issue source and affected the payment , not negligence on the end of Gorilla. I think it is only fair to state that. Do I think that Gorilla should have stepped up and handled this better ? Absolutely!!!!. As a customer it would be nice to have the assurance that if shady things like this happen when you place an order with them and will be on your side and go to bat for you rather the faulty payment method. So perhaps it was not the fault of Gorilla of why the transaction failed and caused this domino effect of problems for me , but they sure the hell had no interest in helping me understand what went wrong , in fact once I started questioning why.. My support tickets simply stopped being replied too. I would think since it was their website and I was purchasing from them when this occurred that they could have been a little more helpful and understanding and just handled it in many ways better than they did. I understand this perhaps this does not happen often and is fairly rare, but the point is ..it did somehow happen and I feel as if Gorilla just let me fend for myself with very little information ,and zero resolution. I really would have thought very differently about this seed bank had they used this rare opportunity to maybe shape the mold in a positive manner on how to deal with this again should the problem arise in the future to other customers. This could have been a perfect opportunity for them to put that 100% customer satisfaction guarantee into play and exercise it a bit to help me figure out what the hell went wrong, but sadly that was not the case.
