How many CFL lights will I need for 30 vegging plants from cuttings ?

I was just wondering if any one had some info on CFL lights and how many plants to one light I'm not sure what volt to get either possibly 250 ?? I will be having the cuttings in 1.5l pots as soon as the roots come threw on the cuttings I hoping to veg for 4-5 weeks and then put them under a 600w hps lights.

i would say 25 , u can push 36 but the edge might stretch or have uneven dryness

So dats 25 under one 250w CFL ?

Just get a 4ft 6 or 8 tube T5 light. They work great for vegging.

for 30 plants? You're going to need a lot and you're better off getting lots of low wattage ones vs one high watt CFL bulb because of how CFL light efficiency degrades the further away it is. Also they have terrible penetration so what ingenious CFl growers do is build cages or box a plant up and put bulbs all around. Otherwise what you get is top development and then underdeveloped lower branches.

I run 25-40 cuttings or small plants in plastic cups and that takes 3 T5 light fixture with 4 globes in each fixture and that can get tight after vegging for 2 weeks your going to need a lot of lights and like driel said you wont get any penetration you can just veg for a few weeks then put them under the 600

You could go t5 8 bulb or walmart LED shop lights 4 of the 4 footers will work niecly, a parabolic hood with 250mh will hold 8-14 1 gallons good long cfl bulbs you would need like 5 fixtures and bulbs of the big ones, small ones about 30 little cfls lol, just some sugestions. MD
