Do I need to add cal mag?

I'm running house and garden coco nutrients in some coco mix and was curious if I need to add extra cal mag. I added cal mag plus in veg and had no problems but I am concerned with the higher nitrogen content if flower. Now when I was in veg I used a calcium and magnesium carbonate product and the plants were taking it up. So I switched to botanicare's cal mag and they seem to bounce back. So should I continue to use cal mag plus through flower or can I drop it?

No you don't need to add "cal mag".

Also, plants like nitrogen. In hydro (coco), calcium and nitrogen go hand in hand. (calcium nitrate is your only choice)

If you use LED Like mine you will need a calcium supplemented for sure.

I like to use calmag every other week whatever am in spouse to help take up the pk boosters in bloom and sure if your in coco your ment to use it more often as coco holds on the the calmag and don't give it your plants so in coco I would say deffonetley yes ! Maybe someone can back me up or put me straight !

in coco you will likely have to supplement Ca/Mg, what you use to do it is up to you, epson salts are very cheap, but u have to feed enough N to make it all work properly.

Botanicare uses calcium nitrate it their calmag. GH uses calcium carbonate it their's. If you use pH down you do not want to use carbonates as phosphoric acid burns off carbonates. Calcium carbonate is mainly used to help with acidic soil conditions.
It is important to note that "calmag" products should not be used as supplements for normal growing. They are really only there if you notice a Calcium or Magnesium deficiency but even then the problem usually lies in you nutrient ratios and not a lack of either one.

Dotted lines show what works together. Solid line represents ones that don't play well. Too much cal or potassium can antagonize mag
