hi all I am currently growing in DWC for the first time I have just switched over to flower and plants are looking very healthy but all I want to know is when I mix up my fresh batch of nutrients I am using the manufactures recommended strength but EC level is still only about 0.5 ish and I read up that other people go as high as 1.5 in mid flower but how do you get the EC level that high when you are already adding the nutrients at the full strength recommended amount do you just keep adding more base nutrients until you reach your desired EC level and keep the all the additives at the same amount????? Hope someone out there can help me thanks

i've never heard of the recommended dose being only 0.5 EC. what nutes?
but to answer your question, double your base nutes and see where your EC is at. then triple your base nutes and see.

make up your own chart if you plan on using those nutes

If you're plants are healthy then why do you feel you need to up you're nutrients? I rarely have to use over .9ec or 450ppm to keep my plants happy.

Thanks for the replies guys firstly rkymtn man I don't know if you remember helping out on a another thread about my unhealthy roots and you advised me to use dutchmaster root zone and I did and wow that stuff really works my plants literally exploded with growth so Thankyou very much for that :) and no my nutrient chart does not say o.5 EC that is what my reading is after adding all the nutes! But I will try adding the same amount of base nutes again and see what my EC level comes to thanks

don't feel like you need to run a high EC. i never go above 1.2. early veg and late flower i run 0.6 seedlings is 0.3

if your plant show deficiencies, then you need to bump up your EC. but if they look fine at 0.5, keep it that way.

never heard of shogun. maybe someone whos used them can help more

By looking through their charts looks like 2-3 ml per liter is their suggestion. 3.8 liters in a gallon. so you should be more like 8-10ml per gallon. But as rkymtnman said if they look healthy I wouldn't raise it.

If you think these look healthy then I will take your advice and stick with the EC I have now please ignore the one in top right corner that was always a runt haha what do you guys think ?

how tall are they? hard to tell from the angle of the pic.

my plants usually end up around 1 Meter and about 2 to 3ozs per plant. give or take. alot depends on strain too.

Yes I'm doing undercurrent and its1 1/4" pipe its ok so far no blockages as of yet not really going to know until the buckets are jammed with roots and Roger I would hope a pound would be a good target so an average of just over 3 ounce a plant

So is it classic UC? All connected by pipe in a circle to the res, with an inline pulling through a mainline down the middle to the res?

Yea I made it myself ther are 7x 20 litre buckets all connected in 1 1/4" pipe with 3/4" return line to the water chiller then back to the control bucket going through a inline filter
