First Attempt - PC CFL's

Howsit guys,

So i plan to start my grow pretty soon. Hopefully you guys can help me sort out a few issues.

Type: PC Micro Grow
Medium: Soil
Lights: Veg - 4 x 20w 6500k 1350lm Opple CFL's
Flower - Still looking
Cooling: 3 x PC Fans 12v 0.18a
Nutrients: Still Looking
Strain: Super Skunk Bag Seed or Cheese Bag Seed

Will be starting off with one plant. Going to try LST and maybe Scrog.
I have started working on the case. Stripped out the internals and wired up the cfl's. Still needs a lot of work though.



As you can see from the pics the lamp holders need to be fixed to the case so they do not fall. I was thinking of getting a piece of wood the length of the case and mounting them onto that then mount the wood to the case?

I have added the missing front slot cover taken from another case.

Need to wire up and mount fans inside the case.

Also thinking of removing the motherboard tray? I initially left it because of the number of rivets holding it in place, after already removing 8 with only a knife and flat head screwdriver, i was not in the mood for more lol

Being from South Africa makes the grow harder because it's not easy finding the correct supplies and everything is kak expensive.

Mylar or similar

I have seen these nutes at a local hydroponics store. Do they look like the can do the job? Didn't buy as yet.



As this is my first grow i would appreciate any input you guys may have, even the smallest of ideas.

You might consider VeggieMAX and FlowerPOWER lights at WeedBulbs.com. The efficiencies will be greater.

I did a PC grow for my first indoor op... ahh the memories. I think you're all set with the lights, for veg you could add one warm bulb because cannabis likes a mix of spectrum (you'll save some money too). Also, you could try to find some magnets to stick to the bulb fixtures. That way you can raise or lower the lights with ease as the PC case is made of metal.

I'd get some mylar to reflect everything in there, although in such a small space you won't be losing a lot of light. Mylar keeps the heat in as well, so you may need to take that in consideration if the temps will be too high.

As for the fans one or two at the top side and see if the temperatures will be in the optimum range. You don't need one for the intake unless things will be getting really hot.

As for the pot, get one that is long and short, space is critical here.

P.S. I feel for you when it comes to a lack of supplies.. most of the time I have to order random stuff off of the internet and that can sometimes double the money spent because of the ridiculous shipping costs.

I will be adding 1 2700k cfl during veg then switch to the opposite configuration for flower.
I really like the magnets idea will give it a shot and see what happens, thanks for that.
Trying to get mylar is such a mission, either too expensive or not in stock.
For the pot im using a 2L ice-cream container with culterra potting soil with coco peat.
Still unable to find nutes so might have to do without them for this grow.
