Dear fellow growers,

I am in need to create a custom NPK feed for my outdoor plants and I have managed to buy a Kilo each of Nitrogen (N) , Phosphorus (P) & Potassium (K).
I have gone online to check and it says 5:1:1 is a good ratio, but I do not know how to mix these 3 ingredients together, please be kind enough to help me out on this.

Also note that my plants are in soil in pots.

Thanks :)

If you are going for a 5:1:1 ratio and the N=5 you would just need to use the same measure I.e. a tablespoon? And put 5 (tbs) of nitrogen into a container followed by 1(tbs) of phosphorus and 1(tbs) of potassium, the ratio simply means for every 5 units of nitrogen you need 1 unit of the others..... Now as for how much water to add, I wouldn't be sure how to answer that, I'm guessing that's an important part not to mess up lol.

Also seems kinda odd to get a question about custom fert ratios in a forum called newbie central, maybe ask the guys over at advanced marijuana cultivation techniques thread? Or even the outdoor growers room, happy growing

You will need more than just N, P, and K!

Fe, S, Ca, Se, Mn, Mg, Mo, Zn, Cu, B, to name a few... There's more but that's from.the top of my head...

Thanks mate for the info....
Yes the water amount is an issue.... My plan is to mix all the ingredients together and then use about two teaspoons of the mixture with about a gallon of water... That sounds alright and for all the other minerals I have it under control
But trying hard to find some
Molandyum and silicon

Thanks a lot for your support and happy growing
