decarbed too much?

So i had 240 grams of wet trim that was frozen (after it had been mulched from making dry ice hash) and decarbed it in the oven for 90 mins at 240. Because i had read in a few threads about decarbing i left it in the oven to cool. It was still very damp at that time...

This morning i had a look at it and it was completely crisp....did i fuck it up???

What did you think would happen

Ya it will be crisp
I expected it to be crisp eventually. What i was worried about was having kept it in the oven and heated too long... depleting potency...i dunno.. first time i decarbed

You may have, depending your oven i guess. I personally always double boil concentrate, its just all around better

Im sure itll still be good if more sedating..hard to really say the status of the cannabinoids

Did you let it preheat first? Next time imo dont leave in the oven. But thats all i got for you

Good luck
Especially if its for super bowl

You do decarb in the crockpot. If thats what you mean. Been a while but low os what 140 high 180....you can tell i dont do the cooking lol.

But take thatinto consideration as well next time.

You do decarb even if in water butter solution

Thats how i did it before, but after reading the interweb i saw a lot of people saying its even better if you decarb the oven way first. I figured since i depleted this trim making ice hash i could use all the help i could get in making the butter so...

I dunno...

I still have another kilo of this same trim... so i can have a few goes at it...lol

I just baked 7 ounces of trim/leaf yesterday for 60 minutes at 240F. Doing it for 90 minutes might be OK, especially since it was wet. I don't think the drying out would harm it much as long as you had turned the heat off.

The batch I'm working on is in rice cooker on warm with 3.5 cups of coconut oil and water for 52 hours. I hope comes out strong.

It turns out that you are correct. It ended being a lot more than okay...lol

Had a cookie last night and it hit HARD. After 3 hours of a very pleasant and paranoia free couch lock buzz i got my legs steadied up enough to go crash....lol

Best sleep i have had in months!

Anyway, i know now that 1big cookie is a bit too much...lol

Well heat speeds, the lower the temp you decarb the more of the original active compounds remain
At 500 roughly a bic lighter about 50 makes it.
when decarbed at 210 70% makes it.. when decarbed at 170 something like 81% makes it as intact thc. Off the top of my head..
Without heat i wanna say high 80's, oxidation plays a role plus its a smaller molecule so you'll never get a 100% return

Being in solution also impedes oxidation

I was really speaking more hypothetically, i suppose best would be let the water butter whatever solution reach temp in the crock, i know thatvtakes a while then decarb while extracting.

I say hypothetical because i always double boil concentrate and decarb visually. But it will work

Can I use a crock pot on high for double boil?
