Painting Buckets

Just got a question, got some white buckets for a $1 just wondering if painting them with a good black spray paint(several coats)would be sufficient enough to keep light out.

Sure it will, but it will most likely start to chip off as the bucket is flexible. Wrapping them with Panda film or thick black plastic would work too. Way more work then it's worth compared to the $5 bucks for black buckets. I'd pay $20 each just for the piece of mind.

Ive had some of the blue lowes buckets and you still need to cover them or lights gonna penetrate. I know black bucket are better but if you dont have the money and you can simply cover your buckets or paint them till you can at least afford to buy some black ones, i dont see a problem with it.

Well if res temps are even an issue for you, you should insulate your buckets, which will also take care of light penetration.

One of the buckets in week one had some slight root rot starting, I simply added voodoo juice(because I had it, pref for orca) and it not only stopped it, but reversed it.
