Mr Putin knows if he fucks with Turkey, he's kicking the NATO tripwire; a group of nations that has pledged mutual defense up to and including the use of nuclear weapons- specifically against Russian aggression.

This is no idle threat regarding our Turkish allies; the US has had short and medium range nuclear missile forces deployed in Turkey since the Cuban Missile Crisis.

And, don't forget that Mr Putin has already reneged on his treaty of nonaggression in Ukraine, so NATO is in no mood to suffer his bullshit.

If Mr Putin strikes back at Turkey, he'll screw himself. If he doesn't, he'll look bad to his hawkish base. Nice pickle! TOO nice for someone not to have planned this...

Right? Let Mr Putin handle the Syrian quagmire. The only losers would be American military hardware suppliers...

Oops. Guess we gotta fund (Swype typo was too good to fix!) a way to meddle enough to at least expend some ordinance. Gotta keep those shareholders of DuPont and Lockheed Martin happy!

The tourism sanctions alone are worth 10B and the destroyed convoy was 7 lives, I believe. Turkey moved tanks to the border, but we all know how well wars have turned out for the Turks.

Honestly, I'm beginning to think it was just one convoy, and one Depot, and several near border strikes. It was supposedly a Turkish aid convoy to "refugees", but the convoys have been caught carrying arms in the past.

They weren't. Every time the criminals in Eastern Ukraine were being pushed by the Ukrainian Army, Russia would send a "humanitarian aid" convoy to Donbass, and magically the rebels would have anti-tank missiles, ammunition, heavy weaponry, and the odd GRAD and artillery strikes that originated from Russia. Then when Russia would send an actual humanitarian aid convoy, they'd let OSCE monitors check it.

DING! Sooooo... Why do you suppose we're letting it continue? It just isn't that hard to use UAVs with TOW anti-tank missiles to level the playing field. Do it at night and hit every armored vehicle you find, from APCs to T-72s... and hey, looks like the Ukrainians got lucky with their artillery last night!

More than one can play the magic game.

Because if NATO had a spine they wouldn't have resorted to a coup in the first place. Even unmanned cloak and dagger treachery requires more backbone than they can muster.

Agreed. Now that Mr Putin has do obviously made himself a threat to NATO, it remains to be seen whether they can grow a spine in time, or if it will just be the twenty first century's example of Neville Chamberlain's 'Peace in our time!'

First of all don't kid your self again people are thinking NATO is the all mighty power,, NATO tried getting into Ukraine But Russia would never EVER let that happen and now nothing is happening there. Think about it NATO wanted to put a army base there ???? How did USA like it when Russia put nukes in Cuba ..

Seriously all we seen for years is USA attacking and doing there shit ,, when Russia sent them missiles from the other end of the ocean it woke EVERYONES fucking eyes , the sorties Russia does in one day NATO does not do in one month ,, and soon Russia is doubling there sorties per day to like 200 ..
We have to realize something here although Russia could not keep up ship for ship with USA they indeed are leap years ahead in missile technology
Now with France and Russia being in alliance
We got to realize Nato is really fucking bombing the wrong people there trying to throw out the president ..
Where as Russia is actually fighting the real ISIS fueling Syria So really WTF
