How long should I veg to get about 4.oz a plant using fox farm nutes and soil?

I was curious,

1. how long do you have to veg under 1000w HPS to get about 4 oz per plant using "Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil" and the three basics Fox Farm Nutes (Grow Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, and the other bud enhancer they offer that supports yield)

2. How big do the pots have to be about what gallon?

3. about how much space should be in between each plant for optimal yield?

4. And ive heard that 1 1000w hps is good for 4-6 plants as far as coverage is this true? which would you prefer?

What do you think? I came about this question researching through google trying to research this. This lead me to a thread that you were saying you had some decent yields and all that good stuff. I'd Like to hear from you. and also how long do you veg your clones I didn't see this in the other thread?

Another thing I might add is the ffof is having big time def issues so make sure you ammend your soil with cal mag or something usually fox farms is great soil but this year it sucks ass You can just look it up on the internet there's lots of people getting def having issues in ffof ........including myself and several growers I know........I had a shitload of ffof sealed in my garden shed from last year I used it in my outdoor gardens this year those plants did awesome .......I ended up having to buy a few dozen more bags this year and the holes I used the new bags in got def all of em I still did good but obviously had to add to take care of mag def......just a heads up good luck

Hey, what strain are you going to run?

Not 100% yet I like the way train wreck groes, and I'm aiming for a short flower time, still need to research/find the clones first before I can say
Well have you heard of ewe-2 by HSO? I haven't ran it but I've heard some decent things about it. Supposedly it only grows like 15% after you put her into flower. That makes doing the math a whole lot easier. IDK much else about it other than I have a freebie from Attitude.

I haven't no. I'm actually kinda reading through some of the results from google and different blogs an such to see which one gets the most likes from users/growers based off of thc, yield, flower time

Kinda, sorta but not to much on the right path...it's so much more then that ( BUT I give you an A + for reading, a lot of people don't understand that it's a big part, and it's pretty much dumb to drop a seed and hope for the best) first let's talk about space....what are you growing I tent?room?

My test space for the moment is about 2ft 4in.x 4ft x 6ft about

g great grower can get huge yield from so so strains. a newb grower can get shitty yields from awesome strains. it all comes down to environment, strain, and grower exp.

ive never grown anything in my life before mj. my 1st ever grow I yielded 17.65 (funny how you always remember your 1st harvest numbers) in a 4x4x7 tent with 1x600 and 6 pots.

Not sure of your setup but here was mine. I 4 ladies in 5x5 tent. 7 gallon fabric pots, vegged for 62 days with 1/3 super soil on bottom. Nothing else special. Got minimum 4 1/2 ounces off smallest one and 6 ounces off the largest. Strains were wappa by paradise and critical kush by barneys. Good luck.

How tall was your tent? I was debating on using nets to make the plants grow horizontally as much as I could to utilize as much of the plant as possible. My space is about 6 ft tall by like 2.5ftx 4.5 ft I dont have the numbers off the top of my head. also, vegging for as long as you did how tall were the plants when you went into flower and how tall at the end of flower? if you did how did you manage plant height? Anything helps :)

You should judge when to flip them by the available space you have & how much training you plan to give them as opposed to how much weed you want to harvest. With a 1k light you could get more than a qp per plant but your tent sounds a bit narrow in depth which means it'll be real hot in there. Be sure you've got a ducted exhaust fan or you are gonna have heat issues.
Personally I like to flower out in 7 or 10g pots & usually harvest 3-5 oz per plant depending upon strain & conditions. There are 2 schools in veg time: more plants;less veg or more veg time; less plant count. Obviously you can fit a lot more 3G pots than you can 7g pots but you will pull much more bud off the plants in 7s yet wait longer in veg phase. I think a longer veg, I try to go 7-10 weeks for clones & maybe longer with plants from seed but my early veg cabinets run on cfls which promote slow growth. I top each plant several times, tie down the tallest branches to even out the canopy, LST the living shit out of them, supercrop all the tallest nodes, and bend every internode I can get my fingers on to even out the canopy & expose as much nodal area as possible to the lights.
A good rule of thumb is 2/3...when your plants are 2/3 as large as you want then flip to 12/12...they will grow another 30% during bloom. The key is to veg until your plant is as large as it can be while still allowing you're lights to penetrate into the canopy. If you keep the canopy as even as possible through training or a scrog net all the bud will be the same uniform size. Untrained plants will grow a single bud on top which is fine for a sog- faster turnaround but a golf ball sized bud at each cola. It's possible to overveg because your 1k will only penetrate so deep: the only viable buds will be at the top 9-12 inches of the branches & the rest will be good for making hash or edibles. So that being said allow your plants to fill in the tent with as many nodal sites that form buds as possible, keep the canopy as even as possible, and spread those colas out to allow light to the lower nodes & you'll maximize yields.

My tent was 80" tall. Ive never used nets before but i used lst and tied down taller branches to maintain height. When i put them into flower i tied down then. They ranged from 24 to 30". They ended up being 36 to 48". Lst worked well.

@Indacouch so that's why I keep getting random deficiencies. I vegged for 60 days from seed so I'm curious to see how tall they get and my yield, they're in week 2 of flowering. I was hoping to pull atleast 2 zips a plant from 9 ladies. Under a 1000 watt hps, lst, 2 in 7 gallon pots and the rest in 5 and topped twice, I think I can get that. If I get more, that'll just be sweeter but I've learned to be more realistic so I won't be so dissapointed if the end result isn't what I expected.
