Less that 5% of mushrooms are poisonous and even in that percentage there's mushrooms like brains that they classify as poisonous I've been eating brains my whole life and everyone I know that hunts mushrooms also eats them

So you have a 1 in 20 chance of getting poisoned, not bad lol. So have you ever found anything other than psilocybin that got you high or no? I'm about to go on the hunt myself first time they say October right? Any advice?

its extremely unsafe to eat random mushrooms dude.
To say the very least! Was an ER nurse in El Paso, Texas. A Mexican who knew nothing about mushrooms ate an entire skillet of amanitas. The only specialist in the US on these poisonings was at Texas A&M of all places. National Poison Control Center patched me through to him. "You are a nurse. Am I going to speak to a doctor?"

"Our doc doesn't think this is that big a deal. I do."

"Ask that doctor if he wants me to work to register the patient for the liver transplant he will need if he survives or does he want to do that himself."

The doc talked to him then!

Post some pics when you get some. Who knows. Maybe you'll score some pans (cyans). Good luck.

Where there scales on the cap? The gills look green and the cap reminds me macrolepiota procera (parasol) But I can guarantee thats not a parasol they have white gills bruise brown, Its def. a type of agaricus with the detached gills, but that green tint reminds me of Chlorophyllum Molydbites(green spored lepiota) WHICH commonly occurs in peoples front yards and is responsible for most poisonings in the US. It starts white then fades brown with age Tell me did it have a bulbous base ABOVE the ground?

Parasol below that we picked last weekend. And the scales on the cap washed right off....Note the detached gills, annulus that slides freely with a herring bone pattern. Shaggies and americanus are really the only edible Lepiota's and that cap looks like a lepiota cap wish you had the stype's still

Yes and they are all idiots. Brains, Beefsteaks whatever you wanna call them are actually Gyromitra and the toxin they contain gyromitrin along with a few other toxins that are in them are accumulative. What does that mean to people that eat them? That the poison stores in your body and is never processed then one day you eat that just right amount and boom your dead. Yes, though there are people that have eaten them as its a nasty mushroom handed down by the older generations with retarded debate starting with well I've eaten this mushroom and didn't die. Not to tit for tat either but I run with tons of mushroom hunters and NONE of us eat them.

Heres one that we destroyed just to keep people from eating it.
