Bugeye's 2015 Organic Greenhouse Journal

2014 finished well enough for me so one last picture of my favorite time of year in the greenhouse (late June) and we bid it adieu.

week 12.jpg

I was hoping to do an addition off the back of the greenhouse but too many home improvement investments are ahead of it so looks like I'll need to be patient and pursue that project at a later time. I'm planning to grow 5 girls in the greenhouse this year, one less than last year. No real goals as far as yield, just hoping for healthy plants with good genetics.

Besides dropping down to 5 plants, I have a few other ideas for what I'll do differently this year. First, I'll start focusing on getting my high quality soil cooked correctly so it isn't so hot going into the season. I have a feeling I did not wet it enough last year when I cooked it and it didn't compost correctly, leaving nitrogen levels too high. So I need to start that project in the next couple of weeks and be sure to run some NPK soil tests on it.

I plan to top them at the 6th node and then prune off the bottom two nodes and transplant them a little deeper to get some roots off the cut nodes. This will leave 4 nodes and buy my another 4-6" of ceiling room. I'll probably start them a week later than last year, so targeting April 7 for now to get seeds dirty. I will also plan on caging them in late June, which will ruin my vibe, but make Sept. so much easier. That's about it for changes that I have planned.

Ordered some seeds the other day so hoping they make it over okay. Here is what I have coming:

Blowfish from Hazeman - 4 regular seeds. I have been running female seeds only last few years but I can't get this strain in female. I'm desperately hoping it is the same Blowfish strain I purchased at a Denver pharmacy some 4 or 5 years ago. Amazing aroma. These will not go to the greenhouse, I'll keep them small and finish indoors.

LA Confidential - DNA - 1 female seed. One of my all time favorites and would be my second time running this strain. This one will also finish indoors unless one or more of those below don't go.

Blueberry Headband - Emerald Triangle - 1 female seed. This was a last minute substitution for a GSC that went out of stock. Never bought from ET and know nothing about them or this strain. Just sounded interesting so kudos to their marketing department. Low expectations, right where I like them.

Sour Tangie - DNA - 1 female seed. I couldn't decide between a Sour Tangie and a Kosher Tangie. So went with one of each.

Kosher Tangie - DNA - 1 female seed. I love the Kosher Kush from last season but have enough for a good bit. So will explore this cross.

OG LA Affie - DNA - 1 female seed. Just need a stinky kush and hoping this one goes there.

Grape LA - DNA - 1 female seed. Strictly for what I hear is a great aroma and my preference for the LA Con.

So a little heavy on the DNA, but I've had pretty good luck with them in the past.

It will be a while before I get these going so if anyone has any advice or comments on my seed selection, I'd love to hear from you. I've no experience with Hazeman or Emerald Triangle so any comments on them are also appreciated. Still time to bring in more!

Seeds arrived today and passed the pinch test. That's about 10 straight years of successful deliveries from TSSC. Into the fridge they go to chill.

A couple freebies from Blimburn, but both are worthless to me. An Auto AK that I have zero interest in growing and a Tijuana that looks interesting but for the mid-November sativa harvest. Maybe I will plant them both someplace conspicuous and public and have a laugh?

@Bugeye everything good with you brother? Miss your pics...
Hey DP, all is good with me and my grow, just got lazy about the journal I started and forgot about it. Trying to stay off RIU due to excessive negative energy from some, but I still stop by.

I've accumulated a bunch of awesome windows for my greenhouse expansion but haven't started yet. Had a run in with broad mites but nuked em in short order. Ran a cover crop of clover but pulled it due to excess nitrogen being put off. But all is good now and looking healthy.

Cheers! And apologies for letting the journal slide.
