Battling bud mold and humidity...

If there in the buds and you still have more than a couple weeks id probably just kill everything if your not too far away and its not too bad maybe you can salvage some but you dont want to be smoking on any nug which had mold on any part of it
this was from the previous run. i found the mold at the start of week nine. I immediately harvest all the big colas and tossed anything that was the slightest bit doubtful. I busted all my big 10-14 gram colas into individual nugs for inspection, sucks to have to do that. I know I don't want to smoke mold lol, that's why i'm trying to solve the problem. I have some in there at 30 days so they have a while to go. i'm going to do my best to keep it under control this time.

OK so after consulting with the guy at the hydro store... I've put my AC in the flower tent, and set to 72 degrees. The AC has intake and exhaust 6" built in, so i'm pulling air from outside the grow tent for cooling, and it exhausts out of the tent and house. Since the AC blows fresh air from outside of the room, I've put my 8" Can Max fan on a timer to cycle the air about 7 times per day for a half hour each time (4 during the day and 3 at night).

Hopefully running the AC will dry out the air in the tent, keep it cool, and provide fresh air all in one. This better get that humidity down or i'll just pull my hair out haha.

ok so that drove humidity because the plants are transpiring so well. so i'm going to get a speed controller for the exhaust fan and dial it down instead of exchanging a few times a day. should pull humidity out, allow AC to cool, but not pull cold air out so fast. man what a bitch. wonder if my 60 pint dehuey could keep up with the transpiring plants.... doesn't seem likely. plus it adds heat due to how it works!

You could spray them with fungicide when the conditions are right. Bend the buds over and spray directly on stem and calyx area where it starts

Fuck me... SO I was inspecting my tent yesterday, and I found mold growing on some of the black fabric on a part of the tent that is not visible unless you get down there and look. Even worse it's the velcro flap that covers where the vents in the bottom of the tent allow fresh air through, so it's just spreading those damn spores! I'm thinking that my tent has been the issue the whole freakin time, and that's what I get for buying a second hand tent that sat in someones basement! I'm debating on just trashing the fucker and getting a new one, or just building a room again. building a room sounds a lot less awesome because it's a lot of work... but it's cheaper than buying a new tent. I can't imagine washing that thing... i could fold it up and store it and try washing it another time but i need a fix soon. This explains why i never had bud rot in all those years of growing indoors once... and ever since i got this damn tent I've been having the problems with it.

But its a relief ay? now you know the problem and can fix it.
I diy my tents with scrap 2x4's and panda paper.
Cleaning the grow is my biggest deal. I used to clean with bleach ,but now I use peroxide as its safer to breath. I do a thorough clean every 4-6 wks (I recommend, more often with smaller grows). Opening up your space and getting out of that tent will help you dial in your environment easier. Start fresh, start clean and maybe get some eagle 20 and treat your plants. Eagle 20 is a systemic fungicide and it would be wise to use this to save your crop now and for the future if you are cloning

your basement is the problem. Spores are everywhere, they only grow when the conditions are right.

i've grown in this basement for 6 years and never once had bud mold. I'm not saying spores aren't down there... but this tent obviously is hosting more, and fucking with the growing environment. i got this tent second hand off of a friend and have had it since i started using this tent about 8 months ago with one strain in particular. I'm going to scrap it and build a new room.... damnit. oh well. I've always built rooms before with framework and panda, thought the tent was a great idea... guess im going back to building rooms!

Bot is the worst. I grow outside in probably on of the most humid locals in the world, around 115 inches a year. So humid in fact we have to keep our salt shaker in a ziplock baggie when not in use or it clumps up. Check into Greencure. If I see a bud with bot, I clip it off and treat area with a spray of green cure . Are u afraid of cutting those rotten buds off? It's not like ur going to smoke it plus what u cut is only going to leave air space(which is what you need anyways), plus reducing spore producing rot that would spread to your other girls. I always cut as I find cause it will spread fast if u don't take care of it fast. Make sure u clean ur scissors after each cut as this is also how it spreads to different parts of the same plant as well as to other plants. After much trial and error, lots of error, I now carry my plants into a flower room w/dehumidifier & boxfan every nite to put them back outside in the morning. Pruning also helps when in veg just to keep foliage from crowding. My 100% sativas I don't even bother. My Colombian golds still have to go in at nites and they are 80/20.

My biggest suggestion would be adding cooling the basement down while bringing down humidity. The dehumidifiers heat needs to be compensated so the freshly dehumidified air is quickly vented out the room. If you use a seal room setup with AC and dehumidifier, I bet you can get your relative humidity under control. I would just stay away from an in take and out take fans until the humidity spikes drop.

bleach shit...then keep ur temps over 70...and ur hum. below 40 and u should lick it...clean it all and then dont give them an environment they flourish in...gl
