One Plant Pre-Cab Grow

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking and learning from you all for quite some time. I am in the process of acquiring all new equipment as my state has gone legal recently so it is time for me to take things a little more serious. I'm calling this the pre-cab grow because I got too anxious waiting for all of my equipment and decided to start a seed from my bag seed jar and have a little pre-cab fun. I am not completely new to growing but only a handful of successful grows under my belt. This IS however my first public journal so bear with me.

LOCATION:
Currently a closet grow in an extra bedroom. Bedroom is undergoing transformations to support a larger grow. The climate where I live is nice and dry for flowering however supplemental humidity is needed during veg. Outdoor temps range from -50 to 100 (-40 to 38 celsius) degrees, indoor temps constant at 72 (22ish celsius) degrees.

SETUP
1 100w 4 tube t-5 light for early veg(I find starting them under the fluorescent then transitioning to MH I get less early stretch because I can keep the t5 less than 3 inches from my babies)
1 600w MH for mid to late veg
1 600w HPS for flower
1 5 gallon pot
Fox farms happy frog soil
Dyna-gro grow formula for veg
Dyna-gro pro-tekt silicone treatment veg thru flower
Dyna-gro bloom (used 1:1 with grow formula) for flower
Home made C02 supplementation for veg (its cheap and makes me feel better unsure how it effects growth rate as it is a relatively small amount of co2 generation) regulated co2 from tank for flower

TRAINING
This plant is currently intended for a 4-way LST (I know a little risky with unknown genetics but if it goes male or auto i only having to cut one plant out of my screen and its good practice)

This journal is starting a little late as I started germination on the 3rd of august, bean popped by the morning of the 5th and placed in soil then. Watered on the 5th, 8th, and 11th, With first feeding on the evening of the 14th. The second set of leaves came in a little malformed and with a couple lighter green/yellowish spots but all other leaf sets have looked ok so far. Im unsure as to why this happened but im not as concerned now that more leaves have come in and look fine.

The first pic is at 8 days. (Taken the 13th)

I think she looks pretty good for 8 days in soil at that point. Hopefully I can get another photo up of her current state later today. Please feel free to chime in and let me know what you think!

FIM'ed the new growth this morning before work, I've never employed this technique and i'm afraid I didn't take enough of the new growth, ill post a pic this evening so you all can see what I've done. I hope I don't wish I had simply topped instead we shall see.

Growth seems slowed from the fim, I expect it will pick up again in a day or two. On a positive note my equipment for my new room has started showing up in the mail.

Finally starting to see a recovery from the fim, also noticed a little white dusting of what appears to be white mold on top of the soil. Im taking measures to lower my RH and not worrying about it for the moment.

FIM succesfully produced 4 tops, rh is now down around the 40% range. Growth is still slow but picking up gradually. Noticed one spot of what appeared to be necrosis on some new growth, I have not figured out why yet. I'm beginning to regret killing all the beneficials in my soil with these chemical nutes. Thinking I'm going full organic next time around or switching over to some DWC. Also more on the bad news, the supplier I was going through to get a tent wont ship to where I live so new plan is to build my own cab. I think I can probably do better than the tent anyway its just been hard to find time working 70+ hours per week. Wish me luck!

So after a watering with a diluted mix of baking soda neem oil and a touch of non anti bacterial soap and 2 light sprays of diluted hydrogen peroxide It appears most of the mildew is controlled for now. Growth is still slower than it had been and the tips of a couple of the old growth have developed spots of brown on the leaf edges and pointed down just a little on the edge. Pics incoming.

Watered with some kelp extract and innoculated a little mycorrhizal fungi last night. My ballast and fans come in today and bulb arrives tomorrow. This little one is getting an hid upgrade very soon.

So I got impatient and also realized I wasn't going to need the full 600 watts so I picked up a 400w eye hortilux mh at my local shop and dimmed my new ballast to 400w. The baby has new HID POWA! Hope she likes it!

Well shes enjoyed the new metal halide thoroughly with the new growth just exploding under the light. Also took the base off of my pot and saw 10 inches of bright white roots sticking out of the bottom of the pot.

With all of my equipment in I should be able to start construction on my cab soon! Will update that along here as well as I intend this little one to be the first to flower in there before my SS NL#5xHaze femenized come in.

So I decided today was a good day to draw up and build a new 4 site dwc system for myself. I'm going to do a run of bag seeds through it and if it goes well ill do the nl5xhaze through and if the system fails or is lacking I will adjust it and run some freebies or another round of bag seed until the system is ready for the new seeds. Ill give an update on the little one when I get home this evening

You sound very motivated! Certainly building your grow out anyway. Sounds good. Good luck man.
This has been a dream for quite some time and i'm finally in a position to pull it off glad my motivation is coming through here as well. I will update on the little one this evening when I get back.
