I used to think that this was never going to happen. I still dont think that only one province would ever go that far and spite the feds.

However considering that even texas just voted to legalize rec my opinion is changing.
Ive always thought of canada as the us' "monkey see monkey do" and as more states go full legal and everyone keeps hearing about the millions and millions of revenue generated our politicians greed will come to the forefront.
All politicians are money whores and its only a matter of time.

of course bc can handle the influx. im supprised the usa hasent invaded us for our land, we already gave them all of our water, bc is huge and not much but trees and mnts.
think of all the $ bc would bring in and how places like ont. would suffer

I agree the size of land would he able to support the influx but theres alot more to it. Would the roads jobs communities etc be able to keep up.
Ive been to bc and im not so sure if the locals would even want to see that kind of boost in residency.
I read somewhere earlier that colorado has increased population by 15%. That alot of new people.

well oil sands boom or mj boom, the money will make room and jobs besides weed, the roads and housing wil take off from the tax influx alone. if you come and hide in the forest or buy a house who gives a shit? it will be legal. most people are so fucking scared to move let alone across Canada, the spike will be short lived.
even if 10% of Canada moved here, witch I highly doubt, it wont be 400k people moving, id say most wont move, they will visit and or we will ship underground weed to them just like the usa and colorado.
also most people are dependant on modern glamour and malls, most wont move to small towns. most will influx Victoria, vancity, and surrounding areas, then Kelowna and Vernon. mostly every other town is 5 hrs from any large city without modern items. most are sheeple and scared to move
@$2500 a lb in Colorado, its 1/3d lower than the stores. 100lbs a yr sold 1 guy says (bs)
70% of the sales are from other states vacationing in colorado for the week

im the same way, the smaller the town the better, my town is 3000 strong, fuck the 500k - 1.5mill people lol id loose my mind.
lived in Hamilton -toronto most of my life,. never to return
even nelson with 10k people is a bit too much

If the RCMP are the Leo in charge for most of bc it doesn't matter what the province decides. We're not like the states our provinces don't have the ability to decriminalize weed. The Feds are the only ones who can legalize end of argument.

It says the province wants to apply for a section 56 exemption. I assume the feds are the only ones that can give that so they would have to get on board. Highly unlikely however if u hold out enough cake someone usually grabs it. And rona seems alot less outraged now

health care is a provincial issue, BC can do whatever we want once this is realized..

Without a section 56 exemption the province of bc can't do shit. And a conservative gov won't grant that. It has nothing to do with provincial healthcare. It's a legal mater not a healthcare matter. The bc college of physicians could in theory throw their prescribing guidelines out the window in regards to mmj. Good luck with that ever happening.

very close to a vote, so if libs get in it might go legal or be easier to change.

Hate to ruin your liberal dream but they ain't getting in. It's going to be a con minority. Ndp will ne leaders of the opposition and will work with the liberals to vote down the cons nonsense legislation and be able to pass any legislation of their own that libs can get behind. Sigh. 4 years of nothing much happening.

The liberal party is in shambles. Jt is too young and not believable/trustworthy. Voting for c-51 was the dagger to the liberal party's neck. Shows he's just con lite. This election will be decided by swing voters.
