While part of me agrees with you, another part of me doesn't, I don't get paranoid anymore and I will say I love what I do. Its just a hobby, not s full time job, but Its beautiful, the process of creating a nedincine from scratch, I've accepted that if caught in a non medical state, I'll be stuck playing spades for 12-24 months. But frankly, I Dont think I'm wrong, I think the law is... So when you say its a ridiculous reason already, its not, its my happiness... Should I just stop smoking because I Dont live in a med state???
No . You should take that mentality .. And direct it towards asking someone in your circle or someone else's circle to get your Ac going .
No one cares , they want to get paid. You small potatoes

I bought a Friedrich breeze with quick connects, diy mini split. I would recommend not going that route. Wish I would have bought a normal one.

Anyways, with all this talk about warranties, don't most manufacturers (such as mitsubishi) require the installer to be in their dealer network? I was under the impression you cant just buy one of the internet and slip any ole hvac contractor a couple hundred to install.

Please correct me if I'm wrong

I know these guys are recommending some expensive units, BUT, I use the cheap ones from ebay, they work just fine. I just installed one of these

super easy to install
I scooped up a cool Mart 15 seer 2 ton for 1000 bucks at the hydro store here . Thing works like a champ! And it's waaaay more quiet when it starts up than those damn aura systems units

I am mechanically retarded . I farm. That is it. I don't build , I don't do plumbing , electrical, Ac , any of that headache shit. I pay people...
'Farmers,' by necessity, are the most resourceful people/diy types I know.
I understand 'being mechanically retarded,' I never really built anything with my hands for work, or as a hobby, during the first couple of years after college. I tried and failed on a few things, but that's part of learning. Today, 20 years later, there is not much I won't attempt to fix myself.
I've fixed everything from flat screen HDTV's by soldering new capacitors I bought at Radio Shack for <$2.00 to replacing well pumps in plumbing. These things are not rocket science. Personally, I'd attempt to put the A/C unit in myself, as long as I had the correct tools to accomplish the task.
I feel like these trades are worth learning if you're a 'farmer.'
Just saying.

Well your awesome for being able to fix shit. Congratulations . I am unskilled when it comes to all the mechanical or construction or fixing shit.. I find that it is cheaper to pay to have it done the right way... My garden is my business, I'm not fixing the kitchen sink here.. Sure I don't mind tinkering with shit to get better with tools.. But I am not going to risk fucking something up when I can pay to have it done right the first time. Also.. Time is money.. Some people like to buy nice things with there money... I'm not about that. How I spoil myself is by paying people to do the stuff that I don't want to do. I should learn.. But I don't have to.

some people aren't mechanically inclined, probably better for them to pay a pro, that way we all don't get blowdup, lol

Noise is my issue, I've been using (2) half ton window units in summer. Im done, there loud as hell and leak smell so that's more filters and ona. I found a 18000 unit for $850 delivered with installation kit. But putting it in basement of new house. Can't wait!

It's the fact that I want to keep my grow op secret that forced me to learn how to build or fix the shit myself. My first two attempts at an indoor grow op were abject failures. Live and learn.
I did not intend to come off so bragadocius. I merely meant that we learn how to do a lot of things ourselves as 'Farmers.'
Sorry if I offended anyone.

One of the reasons I'm still in Cali is because I have the circle here . I would love to live in Michigan or another med state where electric is a third and prices are up. But because I cannot work on anything myself I rely a lot on other people. You are very lucky your able to do things yourself . I don't have the money for a learning curve. And being in California where the competition is rough, anything less than perfect in any part of the garden, will set you further behind.
My dad didn't teach me how or even allow me to use tools when I was young. That's molded me into the worthless person I am today lol. I'm starting to be ok with that , I am a business man. I might not be able to build a grow room, but I designed every square foot of it and told them what needs to be done. A lot of people can't do what I can do so I see it as a give and take. No one is perfect .

That's crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pay 9.8¢

I run 8 lights, and my bills 350-400.

But your bill would be like 1250???

Then you sell it for only 2000 or 2500?

(Compared to my area 4000 EASY)

That sucks, I Dont know how you guys do it.

Let alone have room to hire an HVAC guy lol
