Apparently, Mr. Dubose didn't get the memo.

I'm sure he will be comforted by the prosecution of the officer who overreacted to his stupidity.

See post 70.

"I think he meant to stop the guy, not kill him"

The problem with your opinion that he didn't mean to kill the guy, is that he pulled out his gun, pointed it at Sam Dubose's head and pulled the trigger.

Now excuse me while I go accidentally eat a sandwich.
When did you become a lawyer?

Hey anyone know if they found drugs or anything illegal in the dudes car? Why was he starting to drive away? Not that it matters whatsoever, the fuck will spend about 20 years in the slammer on a manslaughter verdict but just curious why it escalated and what he was running from.

The cop was upset that Wal Mart was forced to give to the tax base that pays him, there by lowering the demand for his job. There is big money in poverty.

Duh fuck?

There's one last holdout Occupy Wall Street chapter having an overnight group hug on the grassy knoll in Dallas. You should attend.

Thanks for that.

To win country-wide victory is only the first step in a long march of ten thousand li.... The Chinese revolution is great, but the road after the revolution will be longer, the work greater and more arduous. This must be made clear now in the Party. The comrades must be helped to remain modest, prudent and free from arrogance and rashness in their style of work. The comrades must be helped to preserve the style of plain living and hard struggle.

How has your life improved since Nixon's visit?

It was not my intent to confuse, merely pointing out it's difficult for both the cop and the citizen to live on a 1980's wage. Unnecessary stress and all.....

It's Murder plain and simple.
But I feel it's totally avoidable.

Cop tries to open the door, Dubois closes it, cop puts his hand on Dubois' chest and pulls the trigger, killing him instantly.. Acceleration of the vehicle takes place after the shot. This dude is going away for a long, long time.
One summer a few years ago. 5 people where killed by cops with the excuse they tried to run the cops over. And everytime I would yell at the tv "how the fuck does a car drive sideways?!!"

I don't know how anybody can defend this one.

I think cops who pull that strict questioning bullshit are the most dangerous. This cop was so good at it that his tone didn't crack until "again, the front license plate".

Few things I noticed right off the bat:
The cop got a name that matched his records on the vehicle.
That gin you guys talked about was not unopened, nor was it gin.
Sam says something about going home (my assumption is to go get his ID - it's hard to hear him at times) after being repeatedly asked about the ID, and not long before he starts the car.

So, you got a front license plate offender who seems to be attempting to flee. You know who owns the car. The driver verified who owns it and claims to be her husband who lives in the neighborhood. Assuming they live together, the car registration address would likely have been nearby.

It appears the cop forgot all of this as soon as Sam turned the car back on, which I'm sure spiked his adrenaline. While I can sympathize with the difficulties in being a cop, nobody can excuse these actions in these conditions.

There was no indication that he was aggressive or about to commit some crime, violent or otherwise. A low speed chase/follow would be the proper protocol most likely. Nothing more. Certainly not deadly force. That's just fucking retarded.
