My outdoor Auto grow 2015

This year I'm planning my second outdoor grow. Last year I grew a bag seed and got a little less than an ounce of poor quality smoke. Year two has already started off badly. I ordered seeds from Seedsman and Attitude. I had some beautiful seedlings started like Blue Dream, Northern Lights, Purple Haze, etc. 15 all together. One afternoon while I had them outside getting sun, my dog destroyed most of them. But, I planted the few survivors. Then, it rained. And rained. And rained some more. 30 inches in May. The survivors that I had planted were drowned by flooding.
So, I had to start over from scratch. I popped the only seeds I had left, mostly freebie autoflowers. Here I will keep a record of this grow.

What I'm growing:
1.Dinafem cheese ( my only photoperiod)
2. 3 Dinafem Blue Cheese Autos
3. Joint Doctor Ogre Auto
4. Joint Doctor Lowryder mix
5. Mephisto Sour Bubblin Crack Auto
6. 2 Mephisto Sour Crack Autos

Plants are approx 16 days post-germination, at the beginning of week 3.

Any advice during the grow will be appreciated. I'm trying to be as stealth as possible and will be planting outdoors in a clearing in a forested area near my home. I'm going to let them get a little bigger before putting in the ground.
Today, I fertilized for the first time. I used Jack's Classic 20-20-20 and diluted it to half strength. All are planted in 1 gal buckets (Soil is made up of organic dirt, peat moss, vermiculite, permuted, and mushroom compost.)

I will consider this year a success if I can pull at least five ounces total from all my plants.

I'll try to check in weekly :)

Good luck man, I hear you. My dog ate one of my 3 week old plants outside too, I was pretty pissed. He almost got my Cannatonic clone yesterday and I found him with his head stuck in my cabinet about to chew on another of my plants. He just loves weed! Anyways, will be following!

Okay. This is the first update I've done in a couple weeks, a and it's been a ROUGH couple weeks here for an outdoor grow. Terrible storms and flooding. I had to move my plants inside for almost a week. They hated it, and a few of them didn't make it. Both Dinafem Blue Cheese Autos died. Insects/worms found those that did survive and chewed them up overnight. I've since taken care of the insects and I'm now on a routine of spraying for bugs/fungus every week.

All plants are in 7 gallon fabric pots. I may transplant the Cheese photo to the ground when it gets a bit bigger. I'm beginning to see some new growth on all, but since most of these are autos, I hope they haven't been too stunted already. (I just popped two more photo seeds and got them in some soil yesterday. I know it's terribly late to start photos, but hopefully I can get a little from them.)

But, as shitty as this year has been for me so far, I'm still hoping to recover. It's the first time I've done a grow like this, and If I can get at least 4-5 ounces in total, I will be a happy camper at the end of the season.

All comments and advice are always welcome.

Oh, I pinched the top out of the Dinafem Cheese two days ago. Hoping it will start branching out more.

Another week has passed with some more growth. We had more rain this week and a hailstorm with softball sized hail. I was able to move my plants under some nearby trees just in time to keep them from being beat to death. It's been unusually wet this summer. Since April we've had 34 inches of rain. Another 2-4 is forecast for the next 48 hours.

My 8 plants are all currently still alive. I had to move them to a new location about 30 yards from their previous location. They get a little less sun in the new location (6-7 hours a day now), but they were at risk of being discovered in the old location.

I've been spraying twice weekly with Gardensafe Fungicide3 in hopes of preventing the brown leaf septoria that almost killed my single plant last year. (At least that's what my Google search led me to believe affected my plant. I could be wrong.) Well, it seems that the brown spot is back this year. I just hope it doesn't kill my plants. Please give me any advice you have on keeping them alive.
Today I started spraying with Spectracide Immunox. I'll see if it stops the progression of these spots.

I've been feeding full strength Jack's Classic. But with all the rain we've had, I haven't watered/fed much.

I'm noticing that my autos are beginning to flower.

Day 9 from sprouting (6/27)

Okay, I popped these final two seeds on a whim. They are photoperiods from Female Seeds. I got these started really late, so I don't know what kind of yield to expect, if anything. In addition to being started late, they have another strike against them. They are both an unnamed strain in an Indoor Mix pack that I bought. I have, however, decided not to grow indoors at this time, so instead of letting the seeds go to waste, I thought I would pop them and see if I could grow them outdoors. Today I transplanted them into their 7 gallon fabric pots.

Well, that's it for this week's update.
I've still got my fingers crossed that I can harvest 4-5 ounces by the end of the season. That'll make me happy. Anything more than that would be a bonus.

Thanks for reading.

Another Week, Another Update!

I've had a couple more problems this week. (Imagine that!!! lol). One of my plants developed some browning on the leaves, but it seems to be getting better. It was probably due to the insane amount of rain we got at the beginning of the week. I also have a few small white spots on several plants, that another poster identified as spider mites. He recommended that I spray with AzaMax, so I've ordered some. It should be here in a couple days. Does anyone know if it's safe to spray on autos that are flowering?

Here are the pics:

Update Continued....

Mephisto Sour Crack Auto. Sprouted 6/8. Day 36
This is the plant that experienced the browning on the leaves, although it seems to be recovering. It is also one of about three of my plants showing possible damage from spider mites.

Another week, another Update. Temps have been in the mid to upper 90s with heat indexes close to 110 all week. I've been feeding with Jack's Classic and alternating with Scott's Super Bloom for my autos which are in flower. This week I also sprayed twice with AzaMax to try and keep the possible spider mite problem under control. I also trimmed the smaller, lower limbs from my Dinafem Cheese this morning.

As always, I welcome any comments or advice you want to give. This is my first grow, and I really have no clue what I'm doing. Haha. So, I figure the best way to learn is to just dive right in and do it. Like I said before, I hope to finish the season with at least 4-5 ounces of smokeable bud. Anything more will be a great bonus.

Thanks for stopping by to check on my outdoor grow.

Temps have remained in the upper 90s all week. Hot and dry. It hasn't rained for about a month now.

I had to make the decision to pull my two Mephisto Sour Crack plants early today. I did it shortly after taking the two pics you see below. They were both becoming infected with bod rot. They also both had powdery mildew pretty bad, and I was afraid if I didn't pull them, they would end up causing harm to my other plants. When I pulled them, the root system was very weak for both of them. They probably stayed too wet because of rain early on which stunted them, and thus made them more susceptible to disease.

I got rid of the bud that was rotten and tried to trim and salvage what I could. It's drying right now. It will be a very low amount.

I've seen signs of powdery mildew on my photos (the Dinafem Cheese and the Female Seeds Indoor Mix.) Since they are only in the very early stages of pre-flower, I've hit them pretty heavy with Immunox. Unfortunately, it slightly burned the leaves of the two Female Seeds plants. However, the powdery mildew no longer seems to be spreading. I guess it was a good trade off. They are already recovering from the burned leaves.I've also started re-applying the Gardensafe fungicide every 3-4 days via foliar spray. I'm just trying to keep them alive.

I've been watering my Lowryder and Sour Bubblin Crack with water and molasses only for the past two waterings. They should be getting pretty close to harvest.

My JD Ogre Auto and my three photos are getting full doses of Jack's Classic every other watering. I alternate the Jack's Classic and Scott's Super Bloom with the Ogre.

I'm beginning to wonder if the JD Ogre's buds will fatten up. Right now they are all really thin and narrow. I'd guess they are about the diameter of a pencil. Is this normal with some strains? Do they get plump the closer they get to harvest? Is there anything I can feed to fatten them?

Comments, suggestions, and input are always appreciated.

I harvested the Sour Bubblin Crack. Tried drying it outside. Dried way too fast. In just 1 day, the bud was crispy and pretty much ruined.
I've supercropped the Cheese and Indoor Mix. It was my first time to supercrop. I accidentally got a little too agressive on a couple stems and lost some buds :( I also am tying down the Cheese. The first day I tried to tie down the Cheese, the center stalk split in half. I've got it tied together with zip ties.
I'm still battling PM on all my plants. I've been able to control it by pretty much washing the affected leaves with GardenSafe Fungicide3.
Today I harvested the Ogre. Trichs were mostly cloudy with a few amber.
