my plant is tall af

Hey hows it going. First post here and doing my first grow. I have a 600w hps mh light that im using and i have a afghan kush growing. Its super tall and i had to tie it up just to keep my fan from blowing it over (just using a normal box fan) should it be this tall? I have my light about 2 feet above the plant atm so im not sure if its to far away or not. I hope i didnt mess this up. Thanks for any advice guys!

Sorry should have been more clear. Its a swit hable ballest and atm im using mh for veg

Hps mh? Do you have an HPS,MH or DUAL ARC? Get an HPS for flowering. MH for vegging to keep short or a dual arc for veg & flower. Just so you know, the hps alone will give more flowers than the dual arc. Same with the metal halide keeping your plant shorter then the dual arc. What bulb are you using? Forget the ballast. Your pic looks like it was just left in the dark for a bit after sprout. That would explain the stem. The light however, if it is old looses alot of output not to mention the spectrum shifts with age. Also, if your room is bigger then 3x3 then you can bring that 600 MH down to 1ft. Just keep an eye for bleeching which is unlikely if she stretched like that

Seems like you have the correct bulb for veg. You want the MH for veg. Too big of an area width x depth will reduce the par per square ft. Same thing with the height of the light. Bring it down to 10-15" and monitor temps.

Ok cool thanks the room is about 8ft tall, 2 1/2' x 2' i try to keep the room 75-80 degrees

So transplated my girl today from her solo cup to a decent size pot. Hope she does good in it. Her roots were wrapping around inside the cup. The ph of the soil seems to be sitting at a even 7.0 is that to high? I keep my water around 5 if i can lol
