how would you chop the top and how far down
If it was me and it was going to be in veg another 2-3 weeks I'd cut it in half, lol, then work on training it into something like tecdc911's plant. You can just pull it over if you want, do it over a couple days, bend it tie it, next day bend it tie it. As long as you're in veg they'll take some abuse and recover pretty quick. keep some toothpicks and zip ties on hand incase you do break a stem..just brace it and ziptie it..it'll recover. Like he ^ said..poke hole in the rim of the pot and use it to run string to tie branches down..also google LST

Nope, look at the last pic that tecdc911 posted. You can see where it was chopped at the top and looking at it, it had a good amount of growth above that cut based on the stem size. Poor environmental conditions are the main reasons for "shock". Like i said, in veg they will take abuse, just top any destructive training at least a week before flowering.

So I went with LST but didn't chop .... Didn't have the heart lol... Here's the pic... Tell me if anything is done wrong all I did was support the base of the stem at the thickest so wouldn't uproot and then made another tie towards the top to bend it and then I drilled a hole in the top of the pot and tied a knot but I didn't cut any branches I figured they would grow towards the light is this trueimage.jpg

Looks good..all the side branches will turn and become tops now, just keep tying it down until you're ready to flower. If you can work the top back towards the pot , you can do something like this, or just get creative:

Don't be afraid to cut it back. I have 2 plants that I am mothering, been in veg for close to 12 weeks now, and I've been training. i use a tape measure and keep cutting it back to about 10"-12" tall. I have about 20-30 tops on each, which are now thick, thick branches with just new growth tips to provide clones. I'm getting about 6"-8" of growth on them a week, i have to cut them back every 10-14 days. within a few days it doesn't even look like i cut them.

Where should make the cuts like 10" from the top and just cut main stems

you could just pinch the stem on the main till it lays over and then tie it down to a hole you punch in the top edge of the pot and then do the same for the branches that are there minus the pinching unless they dont want to pull down easy ..... then pinch them low on the stem and tie them down

google " supercropping "
Thank you so much for your help now my autos can finish and my afghan can remain in veg ... All I did was secure the base of the stem at its thickest by tying string to it and punching a hole in the top of the pot and secured it to that making sure it was taught ... Then I did the same but 2/3 up the great

All the leaves shot straight up to the light and the branches underneath are growing out from under and even straight up... I will continue to train it as it grows and now everyone is happy my autos will finish the right way and the afghan with remain in veg while getting more light and growing more bud sites image.jpg

DO NOT PINCH OR TOP AN AUTOFLOWER!!!.. do not lolipop or cut it in any way shape or form.. also you can not ever clone an auto.. it has no veg cycle so its impossible.. and if it does clone.. its not a full autoflower. only remove dead leaves and if you have to some fan leaves..anything else will cause stunting.. bending,LSD,scrog are fine so long as you keep scissors the fuck away from it till its done....this is for the auto of course.. though i think any removal of foliage will cause stunting.. people probably disagree with this statement..

the AF he is talking about is a afghan photo was giving him options on his photo so he could finish his auto grow and not run out of head room on his photo

Had no intentions of cutting or lollipoping my auto ... It was my afghan that I needed to LST but it wound up breaking righ in half so now it's just 1/3 shorter...it looks good though all new branches are turning over where the main stem broke and is looking like I can salvage it

what ya do with the top? try throwing it in a pot of dirt see if it re-roots..
My mom wanted it... She's an artist and grows just for the leaves cuts the biggest leaves off and makes these amazing landscaping photos with the cannabis leaf imprints all over the canvas almost like a bunch of shadows ... It's amazing so she took the top and is currently drying it out for a new piece ... So it won't go to wast
