I don't skype. The niece will hear me and there's also a door and a window between her room and mine. This house was custom built and for the life of me I can't figure out why there's a floor to ceiling window between her bedroom and my room, which is the sunroom. Still, why a window? Anyway, I don't want to be heard or seen. I have a large painting over the window and a bookshelf under the painting to block the window but you can hear everything.

At night when I turn the lights off in the bedroom, I open the box a little because there's a ceiling fan right over them. I'm just hoping they're not getting any ambient light from anywhere. There's a security light on my side of the house and it lights up outside the bedroom, but it's not that light. Plus I have mini blinds that I close.

Did you look at the last plant I posted? I wonder if I should top it. I know you're a newbie too, but your plants don't look like a newbie grew them, so come clean man!

Yes i would FIM cut that little baby! I messed the FIM cut up as well dont worry. I still had growth coming up like you did but what did was cut that growth at the stalk when it got a little higher to allow the 4 nodes to shoot up. Its hard to explain.

When your plants get little bigger and you get more mass be ready they are going to SMELL and if you dont have a carbon filter you wont be able to hide it! Trust me i came home for a week and i could smell it threw the whole house!

Keep the lights under control you will get huge problems during flowering. Not so much during VEG but flowering you will get hermy and that is NO good.
You need air flow as well you cant just direct air it has to be something that blows back and forth 24/7 lightly.

COFFEE AND CANNABIS!!

So i got up and i was so excited after my flush and feed this morning i was drinking my coffee and i said F IT im installing my SCROG!
Here is some eye candy!

It went really well and my idea worked very well!!!
There is only about 4-5inches away from the 12in spot where i will be training my plant so i was happy i did it because if i see the same growth i did this last week i will be training by this Friday!

Yes i would FIM cut that little baby! I messed the FIM cut up as well dont worry. I still had growth coming up like you did but what did was cut that growth at the stalk when it got a little higher to allow the 4 nodes to shoot up. Its hard to explain.
I've Fimmed them twice already but I've never topped. I want to cut the whole top off to cause it to grow two branches instead of just fan leaves when I FIM. Won't it grow differently topping than fimming?

Oh boy, I'm in trouble then. I do have 4 windows in my room floor to ceiling (hence, sunroom). So I should be able to put a carbon filter on an exhaust. Since it gets hotter than hades here, I can't just leave a window open but recently my mother's friend was moving and gave her a portable a/c unit with remote. Mom got it because when we have hurricane's the generator doesn't kick in the central so this is for that. But in the meantime, it's just sitting in the garage. I think it would be perfect for not only exhaust but keeping it cool in here. I'll just tell niece that it gets too hot in here (sunroom in the south) and I needed more a/c. Mother knows what I'm doing already and has been helping me with supplies that she has around here. She's really cool about it.

Lights are already a problem I think. I don't think I have enough light for my flowering. I've only got 4000 lumens in a box that's 4 feet tall and 1.5 feet wide. I was thinking that would be enough but I heard some dude talking on here about having 40,000 lumens for a space the size of a closet. That's when I realized I was in trouble. I need to figure out what lights I need then go see if I can get it in a compact bulb. I can't be running florescent lighting in here.

I've got an oscillating fan going in the grow room 24/7 and when I put the girls in their cave, they have a ceiling fan blasting on top of them with the box closed and only a slit in the top. I sleep in complete dark. What is it about the 12 hours of dark having to be pitch black, no light at all? I mean, when they are outside, they have the moon, and ambient light from other things. It's impossible to get it pitch black outside for 12 hours straight for 3 months, impossible. Soooo, why do ppl freak out about that?

Out side and inside are just that night and day! When your inside you MUST have as much control as you can over every aspect of the environment. Lets put it this way if you plant goes Herm you will be pissed off lol so why not just fix it now? If you plan on moving the plants every day that is not good either when they get bigger then you will have major problems moving them always.

As far as your lighting dont worry about lumens right now you have to feel out what your plant likes. I hardened my plant to conditions i want. Its a trick i use when i grow my peppers because they are not suppose to grow where i live. This is a light chart for lumnes for a MH light. i dont know what you use but this will explain lumens thing.

Thanks that helps! It looks like my plants are too far from the light. There were right, according to the chart, but I wanted them to get taller because I stunted them too much and they were only about 10" when they went into flower. They say to flower as soon as the plant is half as tall as you want it full grown. Based on the number of branches I have and the possible number of colas, I didn't want it to be too short to handle presumed heavy colas- I'm wishing. So I moved the light up about 6" to make them stretch. It is doing the trick, along with my LST, it's really stretching and filling in. So, when they start flowering, it should be perfect. I'm not sure about the amount of light tho. I probably need another compact bulb, maybe 70 watts. Thanks. They're still doing good and I would hate to mess them up at this stage. Do I sound like I know what I'm doing?

That's a PPP? Dang, why don't mine look like that? I mean the leaves don't look the same. I guess I've messed with them so much that they don't have the same shape and I have so many small lighter green leaves coming out the center instead of all dark green. I'm confused. Well, on second thought, if I would have just let them grow naturally, they probably would look like yours. I think.

I just took some quick photos of what their body looks like during LST. I'm growing some really large branches out the side, see. Number one looks weird in photo because you can see where i bent fan leaves under each other to get more light on stem area. Also, you can see the babies are starting to fill out finally. hang on i'm trying to reduce them..I tried no less than 10 times to correct these photos, even went so far as to delete and reload and still. WHATEVER. It's your grow journal anyway, I was just showing you my LST and weird colors. That's not bug dust on my leaves, it's actully dust because I have the fan in front of the windows trying to get fresh air in and it's blowing dirt in from the yard. I have to wipe them off all the time.

Okay, now it makes a little more sense. You planted on April 17 and I planted on May 1 so you are roughtly two weeks ahead of me. I wonder what mine will look like in two weeks. Hopefully, after those little leaves grow out, I will have all that dark green that you have in your pigment that I seem to be lacking. But I do have that color (almost) on my large fan leaves-- they look a little more like yours.

Your doing fine! Dont worry about it someone gave me some good advice. Dont give up on a plant because its not doing well right now. It might turn around and just explode later on. So keep that in mind.

There getting tall! I still say add little bit of nitrogen tho as well how are the roots? if they are getting to big you might need to transplant them of your growth will stop.

Nitro, where do I get just nitro? Yea, I've noticed that every time I transplant one into new soil they really take off and altho it looks good, I get a little worried that they're going to outgrow my space.
I really dont want to mess with the girls in flower right now because they look like they're doing ok, plus I want to wait until I can get my hands on some decent soil. They are all planted and replanted in MG Organic. I had to transplant one of the freebies last night because it wasn't reaching. Now it is.

Copied and pasted into my shopping list and things to do! WOW I just found 7 Fox Farm locations in my city! I just looked at your plants again and I'm amazed at how healthy and big they are for only a 5 weeks. They have what I lack, that distinct olive green color that PPP's are supposed to have. Mine aren't near that and, based on other's PPP pics, I'm beginning to wonder if I have PPPs at all. The leaves just don't look the same. How many "points" do you have on your leaves? I've got 5 on each. Is that right? Is Fox Farm organic? Actually it is. Cool. I just requested they email me a price list.

Be honest..
Fox farm is SUPER hot, your plants will take alot of hardening to get your plants used to the FF Nutes. I just want you to know that.
If you use the FF nutes i honestly would suggest using 1/2 at most for the first 2 weeks!!! Just to start and increase 1/4 more the next 2 weeks then up it again to full after that.

Now if your going to use FF soils as well as Nutes dont do what i did!!!
FF soils have enough stuff in them for 3-4 weeks of getting your plant good and going right off the start.

So in that math
3 weeks just soil and water 6.5PH with Cal/Mag
2 weeks 1/2 Nutes and water 6.5PH with Cal/Mag full strength (nutes 2 times a week, Mondays and Thursdays.)
2 weeks 3/4 Nutes and water 6.5PH with Cal/Mag full strength (nutes 2 times a week, Mondays and Thursdays.)
FULL NUTES and water water 6.5PH with Cal/Mag full strength (nutes 2 times a week, Mondays and Thursdays.)

Flush with 1/4 Nutes on Saturday water 6.5PH with Cal/Mag full strength

AND repeat
FULL NUTES and water water 6.5PH with Cal/Mag full strength (nutes 2 times a week, Mondays and Thursdays.)

I find this is kind of Nutes for dummies (no one is a dummy just a term) on the FoxFarm line.

O I C! Hmm, well, maybe that's why they're so small. Thanks. I went back in the goat pen and got some fresh goat droppings to try and make some compost because they say it's really really good for plants. Only thing is I don't have time for compost. I wonder if I can put a few pellets around the plants. This should be in my Manure and Mariuana 2015 thread.

GOOD MORNING FELLOW GROWERS!

Drinking my coffee once again!
Did a flush on my plants because its that time of the week!
I must say these babies are growing up to be nice healthy plants and smell is wonderful. As soon as i unzip the tent it is right there in your face!

There are honestly no problems as of this week. Everything is going good and growth was a little slow for me this week but i blame myself for that. Here is why.
I think my plants are drinking ALOT more water then i am giving them as of right now. I went threw 2 gallons of NUTE water this week. so thats a Gal a plant and there was still room for more im positive. So i will premix up 3 gallons this week and keep on hold for the cycle for the week.

Other then that i think its going smooth.

Side NOTE: My temps are little hard to get where i want them for flowering part of this grow. The reason im worried about my future flowering cycle is my temps are 1F over what i want them to be for VEG cycle. I will have to crunch some numbers and see where i can shave some heat from.

OH you thought i was going to leave you hanging on the photos? haha NOPE!!
