Sometimes there's something to be said about " To much of a good thing"

More isn't always better.

Sorry to be so backwards :)

I found I dramatically improved yield and overall quality....by doing plants...in an exterior scrog type situation where you
where basically make a grid say 6' by 6' in a frame of wood or metal....and as the plant veg is taking place
you can pull branches toward the outside in all directions basically opening up the center of the plant....
these will grow twenty to forty main buds across the grid....that are all huge tops...the other key is full sun...
basically half of these plants are top grade buds....the bottom halves are great for oil making....usually fluffier stuff like lp weed...like gb123 said....
I have done these side by side with 13 footers done au natural.....and the grids out produce the taller ones.....
plus wind is a factor on the really big ones....you can lose a couple of pounds of bud in a thunder storm....easily....

you bet it does....
I hope to have the exterior part of the greenhouse covered before fall this year....
will be nice to be able to keep them dry and the humidity down....if we get a wet fall....

Growing outdoors around the GTA is such a coin flip, I don't even bother anymore. Just not worth the time and effort. IMO

that would be why....a little investment....should produce great results....
sorta like outdoor veg and indoor bud out....
gives you the ability to control as much as you can....things like how much water they see come fall...
pretty sure as well....there is some awesome bud grown outdoor within a 3 hour radius....of TO

for things like long budding sativa's just be sure to do your start in feb Indoor....and they will finish up before mold...or other
things will get them....

A little investment is great if you have a location where getting ripped off isnt a concern...not sure if such a place exists.

This is what I'm getting at...if the season doesn't take a shit, some mother fucker comes and jacks your crop. And its rarely the pigs doing the jacking...

maybe true on a pure bred....but some sativa hybrids will do well....
I had two plants last year that I started in feb(with supplemented light) and finished late october....and they were...done...
the year before....I went into november...from a early may planting and they did not finish completely...
also there are going to have to be security needs met...in order to keep your hard work....
and yes there is a period ,,,,that leaving the crop unattended is not an option
so Camera's and visible ones...security lighting....on motion detector,s good fencing...with locking gates....guard dogs....etc....all help...plus it also helps to be in good with the neighbors...

IMO, all that money spent on securing an outdoor op. Is put to better use indoors.

Honestly, if I was forced to grow outdoors. I would be planting autos now and harvesting by Aug with maybe enough time for a second run.

That is why I went green house....but a sort of 2 phase building....
half covered over and using hps ..which doubles as a place to put your plants into darkness..to bud out when ever you want to or have done enough veg,,,,and a convertible open air /glass side...to maximize natural sunlight to veg,,,,
for me I just did not want to grow in my house....so I spent a little on a second secure building...to do both my indoor and outdoor crops....Which by the way can not run,,,,at the same time,,,,
What I especially like is the outdoor veg period....4 to 5 week veg outside will produce a huge plant by the time you bud out...so if you start to bud out in july,,,,you can also finish up before moisture becomes a problem....
