I have lived in Colorado for over 25 years.
Colorado is this great Nation's 54th state.
There are over 29 million people in Colorado and counting.
There are over 9,000 miles of Gold Medal Carp streams.
We have more putt putt golf courses than Djibouti and Syria COMBINED.
There are approximately 5 quality breweries in Colorado, almost as many as San Diego.
Gravity is less powerful at mile high elevation. You will weigh approximately 15% less. You vertical leap will improve markedly.
Make sure to hydrate, the lower gravity means you will urinate more.

The Rocky Mountains were mistakenly created in the early 1920s as a part of Eisenberg's "New Deal."
When making this great country's highway system there was a huge amount of dirt left over. At the time Colorado was flatter than Nebraska. Then Nebraska governor Jeb Dupont refused to let federal truck dump the dirt in Nebraska. Colorado's corrupt governor, Hugh G. Rection accepted a bribe and allowed the dirt to be dumped west of Denver and the rest is history. Little did Hugh know that the dirt mountains would shape this state in to the skiing and fishing mecca it is today.

Just got back from Denver this week as a matter of fact and here are a few tips.

Stayed at a "chain" motel a couple of days and it had BED BUGS which I am extremely allergic too. Then moved over to the Lexington Inn in Aurora. Very cheap like $75 total, I got a discount for my CDL. Very clean rooms, seemed really safe and family oriented and decent continental breakfast, but. No smoking rooms.

Used Payless for auto rental near the Airport, very reasonable like $135 total for 3 days included a tank of gas. Hyundai Accent, decent little car. AAA customer service and fast check in/out with airport shuttle service also very fast and convenient.

Must see.

Forney Museum. If you like antique cars, trains and bikes, it's well worth the $10 bucks. Beautiful old steam engines and antique train cars. Many beautiful and rare old cars, mostly family style not just Stangs and hot rods, mostly meticulously restored or even original family type cars. Model Ts all the way to 50s and 60s. And a beautiful collection of antique (early 1900's) Indian bikes and older Hondas that reminded of back when I was a kid riding. Lots of other unique items as well. Highly recommend doing the tour and take your time. I spent about 2 hours in there.

I'm a zoo guy so the Zoo was also very nice. I think it was only like $20 so also very reasonable. I didn't get a chance, but would have loved to visit Vail again since its been more than a decade. Probably completely different.

There is a ton of stuff to do in Denver. Rush hour traffic is a bear though, but the people are extremely nice. Customer service everywhere is awesome. The airport is huge. Like covers 53 square miles and inside it's similar to a mall.

Dispensaries are everywhere. I found that the "top shelf" wasn't any more potent than my own, but the variety is amazing and I think the flavors and taste were actually better than my own.

Tried some Watermelon flavored canna punch and it was very good for a day high. About 1/4 bottle didn't put me anywhere near over the top and it's perfect for going to the zoo or whatever. I did smell weed while at the zoo a couple of times but, there are children everywhere so I personally would not smoke around them like that. Edibles are everywhere and all the weed prices were extremely reasonable for the quality. Even $20 a gram top shelf is worth every penny. I did pick up a gram of rolled lower shelf, some kind of OG(Nightmare 5.7% I think) and the taste was superb and made for a perfect day high. Picked up some Mob Boss(20%) and it was a good relaxing evening and bed time high. My buds are tighter and stickier but I give both a solid 8 for the price and quality. My Amnesia is more powerful though. Near devastating, though I would compare the OG and boss more like my lemon skunk.

Not sure about transporting out of state. I am sure it happens all the time, guess just hope your not the one that gets caught. I don't need to, so not an issue for me. Best of luck to you.

The one thing I noticed and was pleasantly surprised is that, weed doesn't seem to be on the forefront of the locals minds. It's not like the world revolves around weed in Denver. The locals are just going about every day life like everywhere else and weed is acceptable. To most seems like it's just weed. That's the way I feel about it too. It is nice to have all of the choices.

Anyway, so much to do in Denver it's an amazing city to visit, dont really know if I would want to live there, kinda big for me. But, the ever ongoing construction and huge plants seems like it would be a good place to settle down and has a a lot of long term career opportunities. Aurora seemed like a cool suberb. The massacre that happened in the theatre was probably just isolated to that one crazy guy.

Anyway, unless your allergic to fun you should a great vaca there.

I have no idea, i imagine you could if you knew people, but I doubt it. I do not do anything illegal, cannabis wise.
If I were from out of town and were looking to illegally obtain a large amount of cannabis I would look at craigslist.
If I were just looking to get pot from shops, I would get a copy of the Westword. (The Weedword)

I have no reason to deal with such things, so my knowledge is limited to speculation.

If you do plan on mailing things, I would make sure the smell is completely mitigated.

Some of the best weed is sold in dispensaries that do not sell to the general public. You need a med card to get in.
Quality varies greatly. I used to have a place that put out A+ stuff, but something happened and now it is just okay.
CAM has (had?) great pot. It smells like a kennel in there, but damn do they have great pot. They are a really expensive dispensary.

I can get A level pot for $135 an ounce at one shop. I can not remember the name, it is on 9th and Lincoln(?) They have rec weed and specials that give you med prices for rec sometimes.

I smoked A+ weed in college in the 1990s. Weed has been very prevalent here for a long time.
Even before medical weed was just not a big deal here.

Weed is legal here and nothing has really changed.
No big deal.

In 2009 I would drive down the streets rubber necking at all the dispensaries. Now they just blend into the background with the other stores.

Starbucks, antique store, restaurant, weedstore, upholstery store...

yawn

just put a little in your pocket and walk it right through TSA. they're not really looking for it.

if they find it, say woops, forgot about that and tell them to please throw it away.

i've flown to new york with colorado weed twice in the last year.

Can you find a lb under 1000$ out there?
more like about 1800 - 2200 depending on quality.

talk to gunnar.

Please I cant emphasize this enough. Do not drive out of Colorado with meds, especially weight, unless you know exactly what you are getting yourself into, both the risks and possible consequences. I was doing it for a while and ended up getting pulled over for going 5mph over when i wasnt speeding by state patrol drug task force. I got searched after I wouldnt consent to a search and asked to be free to go. Charged with three felonies which got dropped but had to pay 12k for my bond and lawyer. If you get caught coming out of Colorado, you are NOT going to be having a very good day...

i just took a leisurely drive to kansas and back, i can't say why.

but i can say i saw 6 cops on my way out there, and 16 on my way back, and was tailed 3 times.

if OP is planning on taking more than a memento back home, he had better have nerves of fucking steel and be prepared for a drive that leaves him drained in every sense. and yes, i mean fecal as well.

i took the biggest shit of my life each and every time i was anywhere near a toilet.
