50 States Ranked By The Cost Of Weed ...(Hint: Oregon)

Legalize it and the price of weed falls. That’s the conclusion of an analysis of a database of marijuana prices posted by volunteers: States where recreational marijuana use is legal are also the states where marijuana is least expensive. Even among states where pot is still illegal for all uses, the price of an ounce ranges so widely from that someone who smokes an ounce a month can move from Pittsburgh to Portland, Ore., and save enough money for a year’s worth of premium cable to enhance the experience.

In four states where pot has been legalized or decriminalized–Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Alaska–the price of an ounce has fallen below $300, compared with the nationwide average of $324, according to PriceOfWeed.com, a site where users can anonymously submit the cost of weed in their area purchased either from the black market or legally through a dispensary.

Despite a strong marijuana culture, Colorado is surprisingly not the state with the lowest marijuana prices. At $204 for an ounce of high quality cannabis, Oregon is the state with the cheapest weed – almost half the cost of an ounce of marijuana in North Dakota, where prices are the highest in the country at $387 an ounce.

In Washington D.C., where marijuana became legal for recreational use in March but where commercial sale is still illegal, the price of an ounce of weed still costs $346.

yeah those are like dispensary prices.. i don't think people get that the dispensaries don't grow everything they sell. they buy their supplies from other growers. so maybe they list 300 but they buy at 180 so they make 120 for supplying a service that can be raided and robbed fairly simply at anytime with little care from the local public... so that 120$ profit really is worth it to me if i had no other choice and had to buy ... id rather buy in a dispensary in most cases. so BLUNMASSA is right i mean i know guys here that won't pay over 200 for a grade.. and i know the crap growers are selling at like 150$ .. but no one seems to care about quality its all price now.

So I was at this conference about marijuana last week and the well established scuttlebutt was that Washington State's wholesale pound price has utterly collapsed in the last six months.

I kind of think it is true but would love to know more...

Indeed Balder's, these are fluid times,...then again many states will have 2 prices, one for the meds the other for the illegal rec. smoker..?

387 dollars converts to 252.5 quid....that's fairly average for high grade in the uk unless you are connected. High grade is a lolworthy name anyways....it could be decent shit, or it could just be slightly better then the hermie brick weed the chavs pedal in their grotty council houses.
Had to look up chavs and got a good laugh!

Northern Colorado only 1800 a unit thats 112 bucks a zone!!! Why doesn't everyone live here?
If people ever do the math you will realize you can grow top shelf for literally dimes a gram. And every bodies doing it these days. I can see a further collapse in wholesale prices after this season in CO. I think there will be too much weed.

End of summer will rise to 2200 a unit but soon after it goes back down. GrowUrOwnDank hopefully there will never be too much weed o_O
I'm just watching trends and that is certainly only my opinion. I remember when peeps with acreage got paid to not grow. To stabilize commodities. I dunno. Let's watch and see.

When it officially goes legal. It would drop dramatically. I got 10,000 acres by dallas thats waiting...
Not including my ranch in midland-odessa area thats a few times that size.
Outdoor will be the new brick weed, i could see $20 o's easily and 50 for dodo. Less if elec companies dont throw a fit, i culd combine a couple grow houses i have right now..cutting costs, as rent is a factor.. i gave my setup in another thread, showing me profiting 14,500 a month off one house and 5 lights.
People are gonna come and say well shit cut prices 75% and still make bank. That number was off $100 ozs.

They're already doing that. That's why CO is being sued by like Kansas and a few other surrounding states.
Not entirely true. One of the plaintiffs- those bringing the suit against Colorado is Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith. Personally, I think he's committing an act of conflict of interest with his elected office and duties. After all, the Constitution explicitly gives county sheriffs the duty of protecting their citizens FROM the Feds!

FWIW, I think the suit is an expensive waste of taxpayer money, designed more for grandstanding than policy.

Different case altogether. I feel that the Sheriff should be immediately discharged from his duties. He is bound to the people and the laws they vote for.

I'm talking states. Google it. I don't wanna look it up for you.

I don't think it's a different case. And I am also talking about states. He's one of several plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the state of Colorado. AGs from several surrounding states are co plaintiffs with him. I'm sure about this, I live in Larimer County. There may be other suits, too. If the case you're referring to is different, DO please Google it for us readers who may be confused.

Yes, I agree with you that if he wants to pursue the case he needs to step down- but he isn't and no one is trying to make him. And that's fucked up.

Best I can do committing to under a minute of googling. I'm reading and doing other things bro.
