My dads buddy was trying to sell me a couple of those. He drove them into the ground and expected junk yards here to carry parts for them still lol
Im a big vw/porsche guy.
I wanted a widebody 911 but had to settle on a 150hp beetle

Its pre 67. There are alot of them for sale on the samba. You building a racer or a cruiser?

yeah, i have been on the samba for about a week straight now, lol... keep finding something that would fit the bill, and my wallet, but of course i'm on the east coast and the cars i'm finding are mostly cali cars.. :( i wonder if people in cali have the same problem, lol..
nah, just a driver mostly, low and slow, or low and fast down the road when my wallet allows.. just want a sweet bug atm, it's driving me nuts actually..

bug out was this weekend, but they moved it a bit further down south, just out of day trip distance for me really.. used to be in manasas, which wasn't a bad drive to go and come home in the same day, but now they've tacked on a few more hours each way, and i didn't really feel like driving that far..

Depending how far east you are theres a big show here in june in niagara.
I wanted to put mine in the show but its still not done

Its usually a pretty good turnout. Maybe 1500 cars
100 vendors and a decent crowd. Most of the vw guys around here are getting older so alot of vintage resto cars.
Still a good show and its usually two days so make a mini vacation out of it lol
