1st Grow - Question on Flowering Growth Rate

Hey fellow growers. I am hoping someone can give me some guidance or reassurance here. My question is simple. Have my plants slowed in growth and flowering or is everything normal given the following info? I am currently doing my first ever indoor grow with Nirvana Blue Mystic Autoflower. I am 28 days in, using 3 separate space buckets with one plant in each bucket. Each bucket is equipped with four 24w CFL bulbs running 18/6. The plants are currently about 16" tall. I germed them in damp paper towels, then moved to small paper cups. At day 14 I transplanted them to the space buckets, which have about 2 gallons of Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil in them each (next time I won't transplant, I will just plant directly to the 5 gallon space bucket to avoid stress/shock since they are AFs, but they seemed to do fine after the transplant). Each bucket is equipped with an automatic drip irrigation line, which I have been tinkering with to get it right (targeting 20% runoff per watering). As of now, they get watered automatically every 42 hours (4x per week) with teh pump pulling from a single shared 5 gallon reservoir. The top inch or two of soil is dry when they get watered, but again, I am still tinkering a bit with the frequency and volume of water per watering. I have not used any nutes yet as I have consistently read that Fox Farm Ocean Forest has plenty of nutes to sustain the plant for up to 4 weeks (some people even say as long as 7 weeks). However, as you can see from my pics, they have started to flower. But since they started flowering last week (about day 21), they have really stopped growing. This is where my question is. Is that normal? Do the flowers/buds grow and fill in slowly for this strain? Or is there something I should be concerned about? pH is 6.8 in the water reservoir (have not had a chance to measure the runoff yet). Ambient temp in the room is ~74F, but I am sure the temp inside the buckets is hotter. Each bucket does have two 2" small 12v pc fans just above the soil level...one for intake and one for exhaust. They run 24 hours. But I don't have a temperature probe to measure the temp up top by the lights, which is most certainly hotter than the 74F ambient room temp, I just don't know how much hotter. Because the growth seemed to really slow once they started flowering, I went ahead and ordered the Fox Farm trio of nutes and they will be arriving today. My plan is to use only 1/4 strength of the Tiger Bloom nute starting tonight, since I think the veg state is done for me. I really want to take it easy here on the nutes, as that is common knowledge, but does anyone think lack of nutes is why the initial bud growth is so slow? I.E. Has the plant eaten through all the nutrients in the original soil and is asking for more now? My other concerns which may be affecting growth rate of the flowers are:

1) air temp in the buckets (so just today I cracked the lid on each space bucket to allow some air to escape from the top)....albeit at the expense of some light leakage.
2) root ball not having enough space? again, I used about 2 gallons of soil for each grow.
3) not enough water? (maybe, because I still haven't gotten it to 20% runoff, but I do get some runoff, so I think I am fine there). It's certainly not being overwatered.
4) ph too high at 6.8? I think the Tiger Bloom nutes will lower this quite a bit, so I want to be careful as to not go too low before adding the tiger bloom to my reservoir tonight.

At first I thought the advertised "5-7 weeks flowering period" by Nirvana meant that the flowers start in week 5 and finish in week 7. But, based on some reading I have done elsewhere, I am now thinking that is a TIME PERIOD. I.E. it takes the flowers 5 to 7 weeks to go from the start of flowering to harvest. Which in hindsight makes more sense...duh. If so, then I am less worried about my system right now. But as I head into week 5, I was just concerned since the buds don't seem to be adding much weight very quickly, whereas the plants were growing like gang busters during the first few weeks.

Thanks very much in advance for any thoughts anyone has.

1 u transplanted the plant so the shock made the time tables alter
2 any time table u get from the breeder is for a dailed in system with pro feeding skills ......those times are our goal but untill u dail in the system more u add 2/3 weeks on

as for your list
1 temps inside on the plant lvl u are shooting for 70s keep them under 80 unless u are adding Co2.....light leaks out the top are ok when the light is on it is the light leaks when it is off that u need to train self to avoid
2 your root ball yes 2 gallons is kind of low
3 more then enough water the 20% run off is worth doing and has some negitive drawl backs (u are using a chemical feed system with only part organics by doing until runs offs u are partly flushing it each time removing the fungi and micros that help the soil got to let them build up they help make the roots happy and increase intake )
4 soil is fine 6.5 is ideal

to help u
your design is not bad but i can tell u how to cool it the side vents down under the buds are good but u need to add a fan directly at the top of the buck to drawl the hot air out and cycle in new cooler unused (higher in Co2) .....only down side is with it about to flower it will get stinky where ever it is

Awesome. Thanks justugh. Appreciate the insight. I do want to add fans toward the top but I need to rethink the design to do so because the top of the buckets have too many ridges to easily cut the holes for the fans. I'm crossing my fingers that these things will produce even 15-20 grams a piece. I'd be happy with that for my first grow. the room is pitch black darkness when the lights are off so I am not worried about light getting during the 6 hours of sleepy time. I have carbon filter pads to slide into those cream colored looking boarders around the fans but haven't had to use them yet since the smell isn't bad yet. But I am not too worries about. It's OK if it smells. I like the stank. Haha

Don't stress on light leaks as these are autos they don't need a dark period, lots of people grow them under 24/0.. Good luck looking good..

these are autos ........... @jerryb73

flip it to a 20/4 timing ......i thought this was photo man

auto plants are great but the down side is u need to be on your feeding game unless u used supersoil
u have tiger bloom do u have the whole fox farms kit or just parts

what is your spending limit 40 or 100

Ok , here is what happens with AUTOS.
( I grown many )

DAY 1 - First real leaves emerge ( slight stretch )
DAY 6-7 - Plant has 3 nodes with smaller branches beginning to emerge and spread.
DAY 10-12 - Up to 5 nodes present
Day 17-21 - 8 to 10 nodes, plant sex is shown.
Males do happen. This a critical point where plant changes it's STAGE.

Very fast growth by this stage to the point of final height.
This why transplanting AUTOS is NOT RECOMMENDED.
Autos Do not have the " time " ( because of their short life ) to recover from transplanting. You CAN grow seed to harvest in 1 container. Those growers that state it is a bad idea , are wrong. Again , do to its ( very limited VEG STAGE ) and moving into flowering in less than 30 days , is why you just let the plant grow . I plant AUTOS in 3 gallon or 5 gallon. I also use FFOF - and will supplement plant for up to week 4 . I do not get burns or deficiencies.

Day 25-30 - Plant begins flowering and starts to stretch.
Bud sites popping up.
Day 35-45 - Growth slows, buds slowly begin to develop more
and more each day.
Day 50+ - Buds begin to fatten, heavy trichome production
and smell. This is the best part.
Day 65-75 - Harvest

As far as breeder estimates , that's what it is. My so called 55/60 day strains ACTUALLY go to 75/85 days. The plant will tell you when it's at its life end. Leaves will decay and " LOOK " like a problem but really means it is near harvest. Hybrids finish when they finish , not much you can do but run them girls to their max.

Good luck. :bigjoint::peace:

I actually had the lighting at 20/4 for the first 3.5 weeks. It's only been at 18/6 for about a half week. I shortened the lighting time thinking it would help the buds grow better. That was dumb I know now. I'll switch it back to 20/4 today. I have all three bottles of the FF nutrients. Grow big, big bloom and tiger bloom. I wasn't using any of it in the first four weeks because I used the fox farm ocean forest soil, which I read had plenty of nutrients for the first month. I just started with a ~1/3 dose of tiger bloom this weekend (3 tsp mixed into 5 gallons of water). Once I get through the 5 gallons (takes about 10 days for me to get through 5 gallon reservoir with my 3 girls) I was going to up it to 2/3 dose. Then a full dose by day 50 or so. Spending is no real issue for me at the moment. have a decent job.

Really appreciate that timeline Budzbuddah. Tremendously helpful. I definitely won't transplant next time. Kind of embarrassed to say this, but I didn't even realize what I was buying when I bought te autos. I'm happy I did in hindsight but I didn't even realize what I was growing until about week 2 after I had some more research. Thanks for the advice!

ok u have a 3 parts of a chemical feed system .........the only orgaincs in your system is the big bloom
here is a link to your full kit
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KC8HWTM/

this is everything u are missing for the kit .........fallow the plan on the side and u will have some monster plants

Well, just finished my first harvest. Got 76g total out of 3 blue mystic autoflowers growing them in space buckets under ~100watts of CFLs each. Not max yield for sure, but I am very happy. Buds sticky as shit!! Been sampling the smaller runt buds past couple weeks. Very nice high. Curing now for 1-2 weeks then party time! Gonna try my next BM auto outdoors in a simple 5 gallon planter. Nothing fancy. Curious to see if I get more this way since I think the space buckets restricted the CFL light from getting to the lower half of the plant. Woo hoo!!
