Proper way to contact mods about renaming a thread?

I would like to change the title of my journal, as it no longer even vaguely reflects how I'm growing. In the past, when updating the introductory post, I just reported the post to a mod and they fixed it for me, but scolded me for using the 'report' function in this manner. What is the mannerly way to ask for this? I've got 20,000 views, I'd like to not lose all the history by starting a new thread.

On the chance that this post is, in fact, the correct way to ask for this, could you please rename my journal (see sig) to 'Baywatcher's Basement Blowout' ? Thanks!

I'd also like to rename my Journal Blog for the same reason. It no longer reflects my grow method/strain. I'd respectfully like to request to change it to something more universal, say Bellcore's Room 222
