First , I would suggest TESTING your water ( no matter your source ) whether using TAP , RO or other. This way you can find your baseline PH. Once you determine your nute ratio for your feeding , check your " finished solution " PH.
From there you can determine whether you need to TWEAK the final PH range.
This way you don't accidentally knock your range out of wack , or if finished solution buffers itself into a usable range. Study the FEED SCHEDULE made for your nute line to determine the PPM range to suit your growth week. ( these are designed as a guide so remember to cut strength to 1/4 or half until you see how well plant responds.
PH is an important check to do throughout grow to keep the plant uptake only what it needs. Forget trying to MAX FEED plants , they only can tolerate so much.
Get a simple PPM/TDS PEN and PH Tester , don't bother with PH test strips.
