Red Leaf Stems? HELP!

These ladies are White Russian Feminized seeds from Serious Seeds. Right now they are in week one of the flower stage and I noticed that the leaf stems and the stalk as well have or are turning red. I know that it depends on the strain and sometimes it's natural, but I don't think White Russian is one of those strains. So the other reason is a nutrient defiency which I read on but I am still not sure!

The ladies are in 3 gallon pots as well.

Any thoughts? Anything would help!

It looks good. Red stems are a sign that those stems don't have much photosynthetic fluxes running through it, but if only the petioles are red (and barely in that case), then the problem is VERY mild, and can be completely ignored. The stems themselves look very nice, and healthy yellowish green.

Hi Crytek,

I'm about 2 weeks ( I think ) into flowering my White Russians (2) amongst 2 other strains ( Juicy Fruit and Platinum Black Berry Kush ) and they look like they are trying to flower but I'm seeing VERY SLOW progress day to day I'm wondering if your having the same issue.. I dont know much on this strain ... I can take a few pics if you would like

looks like lack of phosphorus. Mabey too light of feeding or ph is off. redish to purple stems and leaf stems could also be Mg, add some calmag or Epsom salts to next watering.

Again there is nothing wrong with fan leaf stems and even the main stock getting purple/red streaks in them. Basically it shows that the plant is using stored sugars and carbs. If you notice near the end of grow when the fall colors are popping up, the yellowing leaf will have totally purple stems, as the plant eats up its reserves.

Cool, so its a good sign?!
Generally you won't see much purple stem action (just streaks) during the 1st 3wks flower (stretch period) if you do then there might be a problem. The bigger view is to look at your leaf,,,, is it a nice even green and laying flat to slightly concave, not a bunch of twisting, curling, etc .... just happy and relaxed looking leaf... Good looking leaf will build great bud...
