Note that the filters will greatly reduce flow and noise, but still should be plenty of flow for your space.

I have one of what looks exactly like that controller, works fine, but I don't use because the filters put enough back pressure and you can't really hear it outside the space much.

Alright thanks I've placed my order I'll try without a controller first and see how it goes!

So to update I placed my seed order with Herbies feminized northern light auto. Excited to get started. Box is 90% ready . Got lock for the door and awaiting my exhaust fan and carbon filters in the mail. Expecting them here by the weekend. The light setup is finished and hung I'll post photo either in a few or tomorrow . I'm beat.

Also what's a good medium to use or mix for my soil grow. Several years ago I used fox farm ocean forest which worked very well but if there's a better or cheaper method out there I'm open to suggestions thanks

Pics are kinda dark but you get the idea... Alls that's left is drilling some hplea for my intake/exhaust setup and I believe I'm finished! Whatcha think?

I'm curious to know if a passive intake might be sufficient for a box that size ? It would reduce your power consumption and noise output. Maybe increase available space as well ?

I actually have 3" pvc elbows. Just need to drill the hole for it. I bought 2 so I can have the two angles for a light trap

Got my exhaust fan in the mail today so I have a question do I put the filter before or after the exhaust fan?

I put it on after the fan, the exhaust side of the fan has the framing and can be pressed into the filter without the fan hitting the blade, the opposite side just binds up the blade...

Allright thanks I still have to drill the holes ... That fan was bigger than I expected! But it's not that loud like people were saying so I was happy about that

All holes drilled and exhaust fan installed ! looking great just waiting on my herbies order! Will post pics after work!

Not sure if I asked this or not but I've used fox farm ocean forest before and I know it works good but is there a cheaper , easier mixture that people use for auto northern lights? Something I can go out and grab that will be good for my ladies? And since this space probably will only allow one plant which is ok for me what size pot ? 2 gallon?

Finally finished ! Here's the final product... Running the lights on to test heat but it's pulling good air so I think I'll be allright!

Thoughts ? Concerns?

Looks good.

A simple soil recipe is:
25% peatmoss
25% vermiculite
10% perlite
40% compost (mix of 3 or more types, including 1 or more with manure)

Beware the bug risk getting cheap soil however, it may be loaded with eggs.

I do mostly hydro... Maxigro/Maxibloom. A single DWC bucket would be right at place in there and won't cost you much.

Man I've never grown hydro before... You sure I'd have enough room... It's seems cramped in there.

The addition of the air pump is the only extra space used, pot size can be same/similar to soil.

You shouldn't need the extra black fan. If you did white would be the desired color.

I've left it running for two hours.... Top temp reading around 89 F and bottom reading around 77F .
Will this be ok?

And I know I couldn't find a small white fan ... They only had the black :/

75-85 is optimal, 89 should be fine. There are clip-on fans on amazon and an oscillating version at ace hardware, but that fan will be in the way pretty quick once the plant gets going, unless it's needed to maintain temps get it out of there, there will be enough turbulence in the air without it to wiggle the plants if that is what you are going for.

Ok when I get off work today I'll run it for a bit without the fan.... See what temps are. Still waiting on my herbies order anyways... Getting closer
