Legalization bill submitted in Pennsylvania

There's a bill for full legalization in PA, but don't get excited. Even the author doesn't think it will pass.

I'm not an expert in politics, but I'm not sure of the strategy here. The bill sets up a state owned and run cannabis store system, just as alcohol is sold here. Our very conservative legislature HATES our state liquor system, and just barely lost a vote to do away with it. I don't see anyway they'll go for a state run weed sales system.

Also, it's a fifty fifty shot we'll pass medical mj this year. Introducing this bill now just adds fuel to the "real goal is full legalization" argument against mmj.

Not sure what's going on here. And I can't seem to insert a link.

Pennsylvania is one of the most politically corrupt states in the country. There's promise with Wolf but the republican controlled state senate will never push it through without pressure from voters.
The good news is that the pressure is building.

I am starting to think that the real goal of any pro group should be to get the issue on the ballot for a referendum. The peopple seem to be in favor of it...particularly since CO legalized, and the sun continues to rise in the East.

Once the people speak, the politicians will eventually follow. Like DC and their mayor, for example.

Meantime, you just have to do it the old-fashioned way. Call and write your congress-critter. Organize. Tell them how important it is for you....and how your next vote might figure on this issue.
