novice grower looking for general help

Hey guys been on the forum for a bit looking around and finally have decided to get rid of the technaflora bc line and move up to the cyco platinum series for this grow which is my second! The bc line yielded a little over 6 ounces for my first ever grow which I was more than a satisfied with. I got 2 more going and with the cyco line arriving today I plan to move these to flower and start them off! Can anyone give me pointers on wjat to do and not to do?!?! Thanks in advance! Btw running a raptor 1000w phantom hps in a 6x8 room running 75-82 degrees and 40-50 hunidity! Any other pointers would be nice!

Continue doing what you're doing. It worked the first time. Some dude put me down with Jacks today.. ordered some immediately. I assume you're talking about nutes right?

Yes the nutes, and my ph meter seemed funny so I went ahead amd spent 60 on a good one! I jist hope all the hype about the cyco stuff is true!

I wouldn't follow hype, cause I'm sure that's all it is. Cyco might be quality but I doubt they're any better than Technaflora. May I ask why you switched from a nutrient line that gave you great results for your first grow? I mean, its your second grow and you're switching nutes? Do what you want, don't get me wrong, experimenting can be a good thing.

No real reason besides the fact that everyone says the nutrients are cleaner and I heard that they are I guess more like organic stuff. BTW I'm growing dwc and started clones in a air injection technology cloner which I'm really struggling with

Cloning can be a pain sometimes. I myself am not the greatest at it. What is the main issue you're having?

Well I ordered one of the 4 quart air injection technology aeroponic cloners from a YouTube video and it has been 9 days and no roots yet and some leaf tips are yellow or brown. I have the base of the stems roughly a quarter inch in the water

What is the PH of the reservoir?

Keep it simple,cloning is easy don't make it complicated.i clone in coco with great results every time.Make sure your parental stock is healthy and well hydrated...before taking cuts

Did you trim up your clones at all? You have to cut off most of the leaves, trim the stems and sometimes even cut the remaining leaf tips off. Too much leaf area on a clone will not work. Don't know if that pertains to your situation at all or not. But I'm not the greatest at it, I would just use a solo cup with perlite or something of that nature ditch the fancy cloner, if it were me.

I have been making sure I'm right at 6.0 but im not using a heating mat either.

And yes I cut half of the tips off on the bigger leaves. They looked great the first 6+ days just now they seem to be slowly looking worse is a heating mat necessary

I will post pics of clones i just took 4 days ago...give me a few minutes

Normally I wouldn't use a heat mat either unless the temps were freezin. Mid to upper 60's is a good res temp.

OK good that makes me feel a little better! Should I spend the 100 on a t5 light or running under regular fluorescent light sufficient??

I don't know about a heating mat but a humidity dome would help... If you don't already have one over them. I use cups w/perlite and set them in a tall humidity tray/dome and I am not the greatest at it. What kind of light are they under?

A better light or more light in MOST cases equals better results. However T5 is fluorescent lighting. What bulb are you using?

I'm just using a 4' shop light feom the local hardware store right now with some standard bulbs. Can I throw them under a spare 600w mh bulb for better resilts or just buy a t5 light from the grow store?

However that is not a light issue. That looks like a nitrogen issue.

Not enough light. Need more light. I use a 4' 4 bulb t5. They're not that expensive and work quite well.
