I think you guys are wrong, I think if AZCS setup another forum, people would flock to it...
There are alot of people in the AZ scene on Facebook, there is no reason we cant heard them to a forum.
RIU is dead to the AZ scene , even when the scenes kickin, RIU was mostly for fights lol

So much fighting back in the day. I watched friends become starry eyed partners, only to end up hating each other. Hydrobreed was a great forum for meeting locals. I miss the interaction as well as the availability of the private section for patients and caregivers only.

I'm somewhat new to the site but if Arizona needs a forum then why can't you just start one. (btw is this topic still active) I am a patient and am trying to get involved in the scene, I just don't know where to start. I plan on attending the NORML conference/meeting in PHX on Feb 3rd .... If this is still an active topic please let me know keep me "posted"

Az folks just seem to not get along to well......and the 25 mile rule pretty much did away with the majority of home growers statewide......so with those 2 reasons combined the scene is pretty dead.Only scene left is the business part which involves the few caregivers, many collectives and dispensaries statewide which is very competitive. The scene has become about annual revenues instead of medicine for patients and their rights.

Tell me about it jcdws602. I paid almost 700$ in medicine this month. Yes its a two month supply, but if I was on opiates instead it would cost almost nothing with health insurance drops. :/

I would love to, but 1. Im not a web guru, and 2. I have a full time job that consistently runs into my home time. But I would definitely be able to help someone else if they decided to do so. I could definitely get the word out and bring quite a bit of users as well as post a lot of useful knowledge I have gained over the years.

It's not hard to start a forum. The tricky part is generating trust that visitor identity (ip addresses, etc.) are beyond access to anyone including search warrants. That means off-shore hosting in a country like Panama who have amended their constitutions to attract internet sites that require privacy and protection from search warrants. That's a little more work (and more expensive) than starting a forum at a site that specializes in forums.

Even then, there's no guarantee law enforcement couldn't discover you own or administer the site by examining your own web traffic. If they wanted to, they could make life miserable for you by charging you with aiding and abetting crime.

What's wrong with this forum being an AZ forum? From the low volume here, and what appears like NORML falling into disuse, it doesn't seem like Arizonan's desire much organization. Seems like there'd have to be a way to generate excitement. T-shirts that say

AZ Cannabis Community
Join us at:
bit.ly/rollitupAZ

BTW: That link works. It goes to this forum. Even without t-shirts, we can more easily communicate the URL to this forum. :)

I agree with all that I'm not an AZ native but this is where I'm at. The scene out here is meagre at best which is why it bothers me . I'm a cancer survivor and I do believe in this but anytime I try to get involved in the community it's tight lipped and no resource. Then we have theses 20 something s that are uneducated and feel entitled behind the counter. (don't get me wrong there's always the exception) anyways I'm disabled for the moment and I fortunately have nothing but time now and would love to volunteer work or just help change some of the issues out here, just don't know where to start? And the prices are redich, since the 25 mile rule I haven't been able to cultivate my own which for me makes it harder to get my medication.... Thanks for all the replies, if anyone does know of a way to get involved I'm open ears I mean strains reviews for the public on dispensaries (outside of weedmaps) activist speaker meetings ...lol let's make a change

There is a TON of local traffic on Facebook.. There is quite the community of groups on facebook. I think a direct forum for az only would attract alot of attention.. Like i said before im no webguru but im willing to help... I am now the proud owner of AZ420.org Maybe we can do something with it.

I think the first challenge would be to establish trust that the servers (and you) are beyond the reach of law enforcement. That's a difficult thing to do. Even more difficult to trust that you (a stranger) have done it.

Why would another forum/site/host be more successful than this one? What does this one lack?

I personally think its lacks directness. Its too hard to find this page for amateurs.
I really liked how AZCSforums was setup when you logged in you were automatically in the chatroom and then scroll down to the forums, and then a green forum for card holders which was kept private from non verified card holders.
It also lacks the fact that no one knows about rollitup in the 420 industry, the majority of people that come here are growers.. either past present or future.

Those are good points. But, you've got a domain name. You could have a single page with all the SEO terms to get visibility, but (until you have a forum of your own) link visitors to here. That would satisfy some of your points.

I agree that you could have more features. But, until you develop that, using your domain name to get visibility for this spot might be a good next step.

I think I could get into trouble if i linked my domain here. I think rollitup would have to approve.
Im not a webguru so I dont think I could set up a forum with chat, I know someone that could, but im sure he is too busy with his dispensary to help out.

Yup I was a grower a long time ago. That is how I originally came to Rollitup.org
