OK so here it goes wanting to know if 3 feet is to far from bulb for my plants? Now this is only the top shelf that is 3 feet away mind you as I'm doing a collissieum grow they are the furthest from lamps. Could upgrade later and get 4, 2 bulb 4' t5 one for each top shelf for suplimental lighting if heat permits me too any who here a pic of the madness going on here, also the floor is my fourth shelf. I added 3\4 x 3 in strapping to make a trough then lined it with 4 mil plastic I had so watering can be done on shelf without flowing onto plants belowPANO_20141122_174934.jpg

Hell ya that's what I like to hear! Didn't want to have to hack all my shelves up as I just built the damn things! Things will be popping off soon here transplanting last of the clones today. Can't wait to try this animal out! By far the most professional setup I've had yet

dunno why it looks sketchy most profesional setup ive owned up to date i have cool tubes but figure why chew up the lumens when i dont need too there is a box fan on the floor laid down elevated to let air under it to push air up also there is a ceiling fan above which is 2.5 feet wide which is sucking air up...welding goggles are a must have they work great no headaches or blind driving at night

Dude its gonna be some weeks before those plants will require hids,
most colli grows start under T5's or T8's then to the colli
preferably round or even triangular but square is new?
once at 400mm/2ft a cage around the bulb is a great
way to keep the local fire dept at bay!

good luck

i work with what i have and what i dont have is money for more lights and the best place to veg ur plants in vert as i have read is in the vert system it will be flowered in as they veg differently vert then horizontal. the light is no more then 2 ft to a plant which is 11141 lumens according to the chart which by the way i have seen this chart 5 to 7 years ago when i first started coming to this site for info....anyways 11,141 lumens is 1,141, more lumens then the sun hitting earth so im sure my plants are fine...... is there wasted energy yes...do i care no. in the end all sheves will make a wall of green and they will love the hids hell they already are loving the hids...also the note on the square thing think of it in terms of square feet of canopy do you get more from a triangle circle or square im looking to increase my canopy coverage to take in more of the intense light as the light diminishes after going threw leaf matter...also i plan to stake the plants in each pot so they wont grow into the lights
