Texas Stepping In The Right Direction

I agree it indicates an improvement in prevailing attitudes... but it's too small a shift to call it a whole step.

You said "no penalty" for under two oz, for First time "offenders." See the problem? "Offenders." "First time."

The other problem: choice of either an 8 hour propaganda class or 8 hours of community service, is NOT "no penalty." This is doublespeak. That's still 8 hours of your time, and they want you to feel like you did something wrong. "No penalty for first time 'offenders' " indeed.

OTOH, it's texas... where they wanted to give pot-brownie kid 99 years. I'd say 8 hours is much closer to sanity, but not quite.

LOL!!!

And ---- for what it's worth, the screenshot of my phone is a screenshot of the best part of an entire article. Only time I'm offended is when someone calls ingesting green an offense. (Ha!)

Naw Austin said they we not giving the kid life, that was built up from norml and websites. The DA said "we are not trying to ruin this kids life". Austin is very liberal. The Marley fest happens every year in Austin. i went like 4 years ago, I had about a half pound and dabs in a back pack. Cops search you when you go through the gates. Its the craziest shit ever. Its like the Purge "the movie" but with weed. Its like that day weed is legal.

The kids case isn't in Austin/Travis County. I wish it were, but his case in Williamson County....which is literally the worst county in the entire United States to get caught with weed in. Williamson County is not only strict it's extremely corrupt. So much so that city council members who've tried to change things there have disappeared off of the face of the Earth. You won't hear about the shit in the news, either.

That's nice that you seem to think Austin is this awesome "Liberal County." You say you were at Marley Fest 4 years ago, in 2011? While you were at Marley fest 4 years ago I was 11 blocks down the street in the courthouse being prosecuted for 120 plants. No joke. The whore of a judge had the nerve to schedule my court date that month on the Thursday that Marley fest started(now called Regaea fest because Travis county was sued by the Marley Family for not giving them any profits from the festival). A bunch of rich assholes were using the Marley name to make money off of the festival.

Stay the fuck away from Austin. Boycott the entire state of Texas. That Nazi shithole doesn't deserve legal weed, imo. Austin turned into mini-Dallas/Houston. Austin in recent years looks like Houston and Dallas got together and fucked and Austin was the demon spawn result. It all went downhill years ago when luxury high rise condos started popping up all over downtown. The residents of which caused the initiation of a sound ordinance that restricted bars in downtown Austin from allowing live music to be played past Midnight. IN THE "LIVE MUSIC CAPITOL OF THE FUCKING WORLD."

I watched Austin go downhill before my eyes. It was a fucking tragedy. The glory days of that town have long since passed. "Keep Austin Weird" is merely a marketing tool to suck in the tourist these days. It was once a way of life in that town.

Not only that, but these states are full of conservative voters primarily and that proportion is only going to increase as people ( such as myself) are rapidly leaving the state for more weed friendly states. Pretty much every weed smoker I know in Texas is planning on leaving. Why would a weed smoker stay in these states and risk life and limb when they can go elsewhere and live in peace.

I just don't see any possibility of weed legalization here in the near future and it sucks.

Because at one time not to long ago, in every state pot was illegal. Those people fault and won. You just got to give it time, but I will tell you this, my pot is worth twice as much here then where it's legal, and my electric bills are half the price of those other states and I've been doing this for a long time here and I love it here. Fuck the government, I need them to tell me shit.

one state turned and thats all it takes, if it holds.given our (stoners) general benign demeanor i don't see a problem with the train staying on track.now about Texas.ugh really if they could open up hemp industry it would help the state and population.legalizing weed altogether would cut border crime by a 1/3rd in less than a month.but speaking from personal intimate experience with texans the farmers are cool its the politicians that need to be drug out in the street, stripped, sterilized, and then shot.
edit:Houston has kick ass hydro stores
