Trying to figure out the NPK of this product. I have another product that is Ksil 6 packaged down and its says 0-0-14 but not sure if its mislabeled as their other sizes say something else.

KASIL 6

DESCRIPTION:
A 2.1 ratio potassium silicate solution with a specific gravity of 1.38.

K2O, %12.65
SiO2 % 26.50
Weight Ratio, % SiO 2/%K20 2.09

Ok so from doing some reading

KASIL 6 is

Silicic acid, potassium salt; Potassium silicate 39.2%

So
Potassium oxide 12.65%
Silicone Dioxide 26.50%

So that would make the NPK 0-0-13 with 12.65 rounded up?

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong..... Silica isn't a measured nute. Only the potassium.

Well if I take a 1L of Kasil 6 and add/mix it with 2L of ro/distilled water that should take it down to what I wrote above, then that is used like Pro-Tekt where you add that solution, say 2ml per L of your final feed.

Why do you have to dilute it? Why not sell it in smaller quantities, requiring smaller doses? What's the benefit of selling water?

Believe it or not people don't want to spend a few min extra dissolving the silicate into say a jug of warm water so the pure Kasil 6 wont sink to the bottom of the barrel. The price of the product will be reflected in the dilutions.

For example right now I pay $14 wholesale for a 1L of branded Kasil 6. It'll cost me 1/2 of that to bottle it down, put it in a plastic bottle and then put a label on it. So now I can sell it to the end user as retail wholesale prices or just above it. I could probably make it even cheaper but I can't find powdered silicate locally, something like AgSil 16H

Potassium Silciate is Potasium Oxide and Silicate Dioxide. Comes in powdered and liquid forms in various concentrations. http://www.whitakeroil.com/product-details.html?file=tl_files/product_documents/MSDS/WLLC MSDS/PQ Corporation/kasil-6-tech.pdf

For example DynaGro Pro-Tekt is 0-0-3 and the % are 3.4% K2O (Potassium Oxide) and 7% or so SiO2 (Silicate Dioxide)

The Ksil 6 from the specs is 0-0-13 and the % are 12.7% K2O (Potassium Oxide)and 26.5% SiO2 (Silicate Dioxide)

So Kasil it quite a bit stronger than Pro-Tekt.

without all the pro-text stuff.
......is it just a different name for potassium and silica?...like mono- potassium phosphate.

and can i use it in my res?

but iv now read up .....cant help you with the npk but it does say silica is a measure % as well as the K....idk

its the second most abundant thing on earth apart from o2 .......silica .

interesting.

Just messing with you, but I'm pretty sure in Oregon they would hang you from the gallows for this.

Just trying to sell your own fertilizer, without registering it.
