Seedling Brown Tips

Tips are brown and look dead, the inner part of the leaf looks healthy but as I said its the tips that are brown(picture doesn't show very well). I am using a CFL Light, hoping she recovers.

Using a water farm for the first time, I did rinse the pebbles.

Not nutes but I did spray it with a slight amount of water that did have the smallest amount of nutes in it. The water in the reservoir is straight tap water and have been growing plants fine with coco coir with no problems.

I just wanted to find out what could be causing this so I don't continue down the same path. My PH meter and PPM meter are in the mail.

I need more info such as wattage of cfl, distance to plant from cfl, spectrum of cfl, age of the plant, and least important atm temp and rh.
Right now it seems you're obsessing on your baby. It looks fine unless its more than 4 days above ground. in which case move the cfl closer. CFLs can be placed an inch or two above the plant and can be heat tested with the back of the hand. You need approx 60 watts of cfls for the first 2 weeks It does not need nutes yet. if this is a form of hydro, then you will need light nutes by your 3rd node excluding cotyledons.

Sorry to bump my thread but the problem still hasn't gotten better.

I am not using any nutes, I am using straight tap water. I rinsed the pebbles before I used them. I now just changed the water. The light is close enough but isn't burning the plant. The tips are copper and growing VERY slowly. It has been well over a week since she sprouted.

I spray her every once in a while with straight tap water as it seems the water isn't getting close to her. The edges of the leaves are now turning copper, I tried moving the light closer, it is now roughly 3-4 inches away. Should I move it even closer? A light dose of nutes(even though I think its not a nute problem)?

Thanks for the reply, I'll move it closer to her and see if she improves.

Thanks for the reply, I've been trying to figure out whats wrong

The browness has creeped even further up the leafs. The new set of leaves is poking out of the centre of the sprout so I hope these leaves can make it before the old ones die. I have now put a toilet paper tube that was cut in half around her. I think the water splashing onto her isn't helping the situation. We'll see if this helps.

Still haven't added nutes, tempted to change the water again even though I just changed it on Tuesday
