Shady club. Wet bud and clones with brown roots.

A while back I was looking for a sativa clone. I found a club in Cotati Ca that had Lamb's Bread.
Mercy Wellness of Cotati.
https://weedmaps.com/dispensaries/california/sonoma-county/mercy-wellness
I figured I would give them a try because they also had a CBD strain AC/DC at the time.
I made a day out of it and went to Graton Casino which is only a couple minutes from Monster Gardens,
then stopped by Monster Gardens and picked up some supplies that I thought might help the clone get going. I believe it was Clonex Spray I picked up. Think I needed another bottle of Foxfarm too. Anyway after leaving Monster gardens I went over to Mercy Wellness of Cotati which was just a couple minutes away from there. I thought I planned the trip well and was having a good day, the three stops I made were all close to each other. I went early and got in the club pretty much right when it opened. I was waiting in the parking lot for some time before they opened. Some guy keeped going in the club then coming back out and was giving me the stink eye, but never said a single word. I thought he was being weird. Finally they flip on their open sign and unlocked the doors for patients. The paperwork process wasn't too bad, I never like registering but it wasn't much different than most the other clubs I've been to. So then its my turn to go look at the meds. I spotted the clones right away and asked to see Lamb's Bread. The bud tender started talking about what a great choice lambs bread is and then grabbed one off their rack and showed it to me. He commented to look at the roots how long they are. I'm thinking to myself okay the thing has roots and they are fairly long, obviously roots coming out of that rock wool cube, but they are brown and the cube looks dry. Wondering if they even water their clones. I asked to see another clone and said I don't like the coloring of those roots. The guy gave me a look like he was stunned I didn't like the way the clone looked. Then he sets that clone back on the rack, and picks up the same clone and shows it to me again, and tells me how much better it looks than the other one. So I'm just like okay F'it, I really want to try lambs bread so just buy the thing, knowing I just picked up that clonex spray I figured I could work with it. He asked if I needed anything else. I said I was interested in the AC/DC CBD strain. Again he goes on about what a great choice that is. He pulled out a pre packed bag of AC/DC and showed it to me. It didn't appear that it was a full 1/2 Oz, so I questioned him about that, "Oh, there's a 1/2 Oz in there?". Yes, all our products are pre weighed and packaged so our patients don't have to wait for us to get their med's. I was not allowed to touch or smell the bud. I hardly even got to take a good look. But I settled for it because I wanted to try a CBD strain other than harlequin. I also got a gram of jilly bean, and he gave me a freebie pre rolled joint for being a first time patient. The pre roll looked nice it was a joint but was cone shaped at the tip and even had a filter rolled in it. The bud tender pointed out which bud was in the pre roll, he said it was called Super Dope. The nug of super dope I saw on display appeared white looking. The staff seemed like they thought I was casing the place or something. That guy who was giving me the stink eye in the parking lot was still being weird. I just wanted to leave I felt awkward at this point. I didn't feel they treated me so well there. They have a rule about not opening the stapled shut paper bag the meds come in anywhere on their property or in their parking lot and they have a rule to be part of their club you have to agree that when you leave you have to go straight home. So I just got in the car and drove home, didn't look in the bag at anything. I drove like an hour to get there one way. Seemed worth it I got to play at the casino, refill on nutes at monster gardens, and pick up some bud and a clone. So nearly another hour of driving to get home were for the first time I finally get to see the bud I bought, and I'm already disappointed with the clone. Once I actually get to touch the AC/DC I realize that it feels wet like its not even been dried or cured. Now wonder it didn't look like a 1/2 Oz to me. Grrrr. and I thought I was getting a good deal on that CBD strain too. Dang it, now I'm screwed and questioning if its even going to last me as long as I had planned. When I told some people about this in a chat, some twat started making comments about, That's why it needs to go legal and people need to stop buying it off the streets, you don't know what your getting. She didn't want to hear how I got it from a club. I rolled some anyway and it did burn. The effect was nice for a CBD strain so it wasn't a complete loss. The jilly bean was nothing special, it actually gave about the same effect as their CBD strain. The pre roll joint cone taste horrible like a vanilla tobacco product or something. It made me gag real bad and it was sketchy, leaving me questioning how long that pre roll had been sitting out. Super Dope my ass, more like Super Nope.

The clone didn't survive either. Once it got some growth to it, it just started leaning backwards one day. I poked it and the stem cracked.
I know this could be a lack of calcium but I really don't think it was my fault. That clone was bunk from the get go.

Here's how the clone looked before the stem snapped.
Its the one on the right, the one on the left was blue dream.
The blue dream actually died too, I think the soil was too hot.
If they died because of something that was my fault, then fine.
But I still wasn't happy with what they sold me to start with.
Notice the stem, how skinny it was at the bottom but fatter toward the top.
It broke at the bottom. The blue dream looks a bit too much on the indica
side to me to be a blue dream. It came with spider mite webs on it from another club.
101 North, Plant World. I vegged these two while the rest of my indoor finished budding.
It was disappointing when they both died. But that was fine too really. I started over and
all the new plants were then the same height. The lambs bread and blue dream died shortly after being trans planted to those bugger pots. They were previously in 3 gal pots. There wasn't a good root structure at transplant. The roots never really got going, rotten from the start I guess. I actually put clones from a better club directly in those pots and they both thrived.

Another club I have had a bad experience with is CCC, California Collective Care.
Their clones were even worse. Like not even rooted at all. Maybe they didn't even use a rooting product.
It was a cutting that was stuck in a rock wool cube that was placed in some soil in a red solo cup that didn't
even have any holes for drainage. The thing never grew at all. It stayed the same for the longest time.
Then the stem just rotted at the top of the soil. I didn't leave it in that cup either. I moved it to better soil.
There was no roots at all coming out of the rock wool cube going into that soil in the cup anyway.
Once the stem was obviously just rotted, I pulled the clone out from the rock wool cube. It came out
so easy without any resistance at all, and there wasn't even a nub of a root in sight.

I didn't have much luck with the clones I was getting at 101 North.
As I said I got that one blue dream there that looks a bit heavy on the indica side, and it came with spider mite webs.
As for the other clones I've gotten there some lived a bunch didn't. It took a while to get the number of clones I wanted.
That would stay alive, and this kind of messed up having an even canopy because every week or so for like a month,
I had to keep going back to get more because they were dying off or just growing way too slow. This is when I was growing
with Vermifire soil, which I believe to be way too hot and likely the culprit of losing more clones then I should have.
But even at that being my fault that I fried them in hot soil. To start with spider mite webs isn't cool, and the bud tender's
were giving out wrong info about what they have. One guy would say something is sativa. It died I go to get another one,
and a different guy would say oh no that's a indica. They would give the wrong clones too. I ask for something and get home
and look at the plant marker and can't make out what it said. Didn't appear to be labeled with what I said I wanted. Went back again
and sure enough it wasn't the thing I wanted. One of the times I was there looking at clones, and they have a rule one patient at the counter at a time.
I waited my turn. Said I wanted two of one strain and it was the last two they had. Then some woman comes up and starts looking at the clones.
Says she wants the two clones I already claimed, and they almost gave them to her. But I spoke up and said I wanted them. The woman was confusing the guy working there and again I ended up with the wrong clones. Not cool.

Greenwell had good clones but they are not around anymore.
HTP group, has had some decent clones. Better that CCC or Mercy Wellness of Cotati. But they don't always have clones, and usually only a few of one strain. I haven't been to 101 North in a while, but now they have King Klone listed on weed maps so maybe the clones are better, if they give you what you ask for anyway. The best place I have found so far for clones is, Vallejo Patients Care. They carry King Klone brand clones and they are excellent clones. Always super white long healthy looking roots, and the staff is polite, the club is very clean. I haven't lost one plant since getting clones from them. A plus to going to this club is that the registration is easy too. A real simple process compared to most the other clubs.

Another thing about 101 North, they sold me clones of Jack. I tried a gram of Candy Jack from another club and it smelled of vitamins or something and taste like chemicals to me. I didn't like it. So when I went to 101 North looking for sativa clones and they suggested Jack, I had to ask if it was Jack Herer or Candy Jack.
The guy said Jack Herer. It grew 10 feet tall OD, the colas looked done near the begging of October. But the bud ended up being really airy, and taste bad. I don't think it really was Jack Herer. I was expecting the buds to be tighter than that, not sure what I could have done. Let them go longer? But it was getting into raining weather and the plants were too massive to move. I covered them but that was a disaster too. The two thin mints I got were growing like trash the whole season, Diseased or something.
