I've read people saying top feeders are good until the roots hit the water... But how often should I have my top feeders on for I'm using rock wool in clay balls... HELP

I'm glad you asked this Q. I'm a newcomer looking seriously at a bubble bucket system for my 1st grow and this is one of the doubts I've had too. I was even wondering whether It might be a better idea to transplant seedlings into a smaller, intermediate DWC system while the roots grew out enough to then move the plants into the buckets. I'm drawn to growing some big-ass plants in buckets, but I'm a bit wary as a newcomer, as it seems like there's so much to get right for it to work out well.

Have you already bought/built your system?

I'm way off topic regarding the OP's question but I did try using rockwool with the seeds and I killed as many as I got started. I don't like seeds directly in DWC with rockwool. Gets very soggy.

I have almost 100% rate by germinating the seed in a paper towel then moving the sprout to a netpot filled with perlite and hydroton but I put the netpot in a solo cup with no water (a spray of water per day) until it has its very first leaves then I put the netpot in a one or two gallon mini DWC tank until the roots hit the water. From there, it goes into 5 gallon bucket/larger tub. No sense in wasting all that water and nutes when it will get nasty way before the plant can use it.
