So was trying to wash a super saturated 91% Iso

Boiled my green Iso down from 100 ml to 50ml

Added 50ml Iso green liquid

added 50 ml reagent grade Hexane

and 50ml of salt brine (supersaturated tap water with NaCl)

put it all in separator funnel and no green pull from hexane (in other words hexane is green as can be on top of funnel)??

Please, I have already read and done 30 second ISO washes in case your going to comment on that.

Where's Gray Wolf????????

Soluble, as I have strained multiple times, and winterized the ISO (liquid no particulate) to pull any waxes that would pull out of the 91% from freezing temps.

No syringe filter, I gave bought whatmans in the past for other projects, is this your suggestion?

I was under the impression chlorophyl (water soluble) would be pulled with the hexane, brine wash? I guess my point is to filter chemically, are you saying my micro particulate are to big to be pulled chemically and I need to filter on 0.5 micron level?

I think I've seen GW talk about wash's with out those means, but I could be speaking with lack of a complete understanding of the GW wash

sun.. or grow light.. to degrade the chlorophyll will lighten it up to amber..

but with extracts.. getting the green out.. when its that green.. isnt nearly as easy as a hue of green lol.. thats straight GREEN ..

but ya id just degrade the chlorophyll. honestly.

Yeah, read that either sun/HPS/or UV will do that, but it still does not take these products out. Thanks though!

My thought now: Look at the picture I posted. Top layer is hexane/THC oil/ Chlorophyll/other un-Godly's

The bottom layer is actually the iso, which separated from the oil and the supersaturated salt.

So my thought now is that GW and his buddy Joe (for those that read skunk pharm) did not plan on having the bottom layer contain Iso, he actually mentions repeated washes with the supersaturated salt water solution.

So, Plan is to let the bottom layer out (Iso/Salt/H2O), and then repeatedly rinse with just salt and water. At least that is what it seems to say on skunk pharm.....

Yeah I did Blunter!! Thanks for the response. I bled that out of my solution and now just have hexane. So I did three salt washes with the separatory funnel and low and behold there are waxes and sludge forming between the hexane and the salt water, I would slowly let that out and repeat.

Blunter how many times do you salt wash? And also how long do you let it separate?

Reason I ask how long is because as I twisted the valve on the funnel some of the waxes/sludge clung to the wall of the glass funnel, I figured if I gave it some time it would all flow together??

I do 3 saline washes and allow it to sit undisturbed for 24 hours between the washes.
I'm thinking you may want to bleed off the saline and try to redo the alcohol-hexane separation, thats where most of your chlorophyll should come out. The chlorophyll is significantly more soluble in alcohol than in water.
Then perform the saline washes to remove the residual alcohol and the waxes.

hmmmmm, so bled, say add another 100cc of Iso and shake rigorously-let separate then bleed?? So when you have done the initial step the green should float down in the iso?? and the yellow hexane rises up?

Blunter the two didn't separate?? weird?? I salted again, more chunks are coming out of solution and hexane is less green and more yellow. This was only done for experimental reasons at this point. Anyone have a step by step for hexane, skunk pharm is great but not as detailed as I would like. The experiments continue
