putting light to my babies

Hello everyone. I just bought a HTG 1000w Large Grow Tent Kit I have 2 seedlings just popping up. my question is when should I put them under the light and how high should the light be above the seedlings? thanks for your advice. This is my first time growing with a tent and a 1,000 watt HPS bulb. I do have about 6 40 watt cfl bulbs. would they work better for starting the veg grough

Is your ballast dimmable ? 1000w won't kill as long as u keep cool but is a waste of power and hight would be so there not hot

no it's not dimmable. I do have some 40 watt 2600 lumen cfl bulbs all set up in a homemade reflector would they be better for starting vegetation ?

Id start them with the cfls if your running a magnetic ballast. Hope the seeds turn out fem, next time try and get clones lol. If your digital dimmable turn it down to 400 and keep the light up nice and high as stated above. Both ways will work, cfls are a bitch to work with constantly adjusting height and swinging around the tent with the fans, grow like shit, and have mercury in them so dont break em over the plants. Id go with the 1000 set low if possible, the spectrum of a 1000 watt hps dimmed down gives off way more blue spectrum light than running on full blast. It almost functions like a MH bulb but its a little harder on the bulb too. Good luck and keep reading and asking questions ;)

Ya getter done then, just make sure you dont get too close with those bulbs or theyll burn your babies. When their super small they dont need a ton of light anyway ;)

I've seen auto grows that go a 1000w hps from seed I'd go with the 1000w hps as I said before as long as u keep the heat down u should be fine don't give 2 much distance or ur plants might stretch or u could spend 40 dollars and get a 1000w mh bulb and ur plants will veg like crazy psychos

a ton of light does not hurt them think of the sun it's more powerful then a 1000w and plants love light it's not the light power to worry about it's the heat

ok. I'm new here. But my plants are starting to turn yellow (some of the leaves). I started right away giving them Roots organic Budda Grow. Then I read where you should not give them nutriants right away. Could this be the problem they are yellowing ? They are only a few weeks old and will they be alright? I stoped giving the nutriants and am now just feeding them water. Any feedback would be greatfull. Thanks
