Would like to try a mainline/manifold with that Bay 11 seed. looking at the cola they look as if they would produce 8 lovely stalks/cola/
Where do you buy the seed and is it fem'ed?

The Bay 11 is perfect for main lining. I've taken it to 4 mains and they were still very large cola's. Herbie's still has some last time I checked, the Tude is sold out. There are no Fems from the breeder, Ken doesn't do any feminizing. My birthday is coming up and I'm going to buy a 10 pack of the Bay Dream, its a cross of Blue Dream and Bay 11.

Day 35 of 12/12!

Did a flush yesterday and today. Did the one Sunday because when I fed on Saturday I checked the rinsate and the pH was 4.3 and the ppm was 1800. I know that coco hold nutes but I never expected this. Was to late in the evening to flush Saturday so I flushed yesterday with rain water @ 5.7 pH. I flushed two times and the rinsate was 400 pph and a ph of 5.4. When I say flush, I taped over the upper drain hole on my Hempy buckets and filled the bucket with the pH'ed water, left it sit for about 5 minutes then pulled the stopper from the bottom drain and let it drain for about 30 minutes then repeated the process.
Well last night I was talking to a grower buddy of mine and told him what was going on and he said that what nutes are not taken up by the plant will settle to the rez and build up salts. I knew this from my days in the golf biz, would see fert settle out in my fertigation holding tanks. I would have to recirculate the tanks before putting out any product. So he suggested that I do this flush more often when using the Coco/Perlite Hempys. He also said that I should raise my pH to around 6 to 6.4 as the coco tends to be lower in pH to begin with. I researched it after our talk and he was right. I though I should of been keeping it around 5.6 which is what I ran with my Perlite/Vermiculite grow.
So this morning I drained the buckets and flushed them twice with pH'ed rain water @ 6.2, letting them drain for about an hours after the last flush. I then watered/fed them with my Lucas formula @ a pH of 6.2. I am now wondering if I am using the correct formula for my nutes, but not to worry now, not going to change so short of harvest.

Thinking 10 days to two weeks for the White Widow and two to three weeks on the CC/BBGA.

As you can see I have a few popcorn buds that I missed at the 20 day of flower pruning. Do not want to remove them now, only thing I am removing are the yellowing fan leaves and for fans that are blocking bud development.

C5, this is the more indica of the two CC/BBGA, shorter, tighter nodes.

C3, the more sativa of the two CC/BBGA taller, wide node spacing

By all means, I'm no expert, but those buds look like mine @half thru flowering.. I'd let them pistils turn to orange, and check the thricomes for some amber..
No way that in 10 days those would be ready. But hey, It's just me..

Hey I'm sure this was covered before in the thread, but is it a bad idea to recirculate water in a hempy bucket? I did the math and I'll need almost 1 gallon of each Flora nutrient through my grow, which is INSANE. Is it okay to pump the drain water back through the buckets a few times before I flush it and change it out for new water?

hempy is passive, no need to pump.... the waste/run-off is only about 10%, feed it to your house plants, they will love it

My media is very aerated so I get almost 100% runoff. If you mean strength, I'd have to check that. I'm pretty sure my runoff is still high ppm though.

I'm not quite sure of either of your questions, The rez is in the bucket, and should need no maintenance. And a completely dry rez in a 5gal bucket will overflow a small amount with 1 1/4 gal (5qts) of feed water. If you're getting 100% run off then you're not using up any of the rez.

I don't wait for my res to be empty to water again. So when I water, the old water in the res flushes out.

Hey Pajautus, the seed co. (Amsterdam Marijuana Seed Co.) calls for 8 weeks of flower, I waited 9 weeks my first WW grow, waited for approx. 20% amber and it was just not as good as my buddy's from the same seed co. who harvested at 49 days, his is a stimulating uppy high, great to work under. Another of our friends got a clone from this friend and he harvested at 49 days also, kickass high. Now they are both growing under 1000W HPS and I am under a 400W, that is why I said may go the 8 weeks, but am watching trichomes for any signs of amber. It is then I will harvest. I also had the pH issue that I am sure set me back. The buds are getting very thick and heavy.
I also waited too long on my Ice (from Nirvana)

WW on harvest day, 63 days. March 2014

Ice day of harvest, day 63 March 2014

Both did not turn out as I expected, both a much heavier stone, and I was expecting a light energetic stone. Both do still work as my meds, reduces back pain, spasms and helps me sleep, but not the stone I wanted.

So as I stated, will harvest some time between this coming Sunday the 2nd and the following Sunday the 9th. That is unless I see some good growth this week. I know the CC/BBGA are at least two weeks away. Here is some bud porn.

Here is a pic of the low pH damage to one of the CC/BBGA's
I removed the really bad leaves, some were very bad and to my surprise the WW was effected very little.

Is it normal for a 100% perlite hempy to need watering every day? I used perlite/verm on a different strain and got away with watering every 2 days. This one is killing me because all the water she's drinking raises the humidity so much.

It's possible, If you pick up the bucket and it feels empty then its dry. I have never done a straight perlite bucket, but I've never had to water more than every other day (except in a 2L)

I've tried 100% perlite.....it works okay but I didn't see any advantages.

I prefer adding the vermiculite because it holds moisture for a bit longer, which allows me to go 48 hour cycle between watering when using a 2 litre pop bottle

Both are about the same price, so I go with the 3:1 mix.

Hi everyone. I am experimenting with Hempy. I wanted to do a test run so I popped a seed in a jiffy pod and have been vegging her in a solo cup with just perlite and also the original peat from the pod.

The new growth looks decent, but the bottom leaves tell me something is wrong. My guess is that the medium was too wet. She has eagle claw and crispy edges and discoloration around the edges of lower leaves. My original hole in the cup was clogged so she stayed a bit too wet I suppose.

She is under 50 w of 6500k CFL. I have been feeding her 5.8 ph'd filtered tap water with 1/4 veg nutes and a bit or rooting supplement. I also recently added in a bit of Cal/Mag. She is 18 days from sprout. The encouraging news is that the top growth looks ok.

So I feel it's likely just over watering and maybe too much nutes too fast. Any thoughts?

it's not over watering (hard to do with a hempy) but it looks like cal-mag def (I know you said you recently started cal-mag, but maybe not soon enough)

What nutes are you using?

I am using GH Floranova Veg. I am used to soil and I use a basic tap filter so it didn't even occur to me to add cal mag at first. I am using 1/4 strength nutes and I added 1/2 recommended cal mag to the jug a few days ago. I have been givig her nutes with most waterings. I water until I get a fair amount of replacement of the liquid in the cup.

I use about 1 ml per liter of water (4 ml per US gallon)...but my water is very soft.

it looks old enough for nutes...1/4 strength is a good way to start....I would continue with the cal-mag as I think that's your issue....you should be okay

BTW: allow your hempy to go dry before watering, but i do not believe this is your issue....they typically just droop when over watered
