Why are my babies getting twisted?

This is my 2nd grow now, started some with seed both times two different strains one is early vixen and the one in the pictures is hash plant. Any idea of why they are twisting like this? I was thinking maybe the change in humidity after coming out of the starter but they started to twist inside it. I'm not too worried, the early vixen seeds grew up to be beautiful plants but it looks uncomfortable to start and curious what I should be doing different.

Twisted leaves is usually pH being off, I want to say too low...damn just second guessed myself might be too high ppm. A lot of nutes are acidic so using to much lowers the pH. So low pH and over ferting kind of go hand in hand.

I see nothing to be concerned with at this stage,
other than a slight yellowing of the central leaf veins
indicative of (Mg) def,
apply some cal mag or epsom salts
in the next month and you should be fine

go foilar one teaspoon to a pint spray bottle
will with warm water shake and spray
2x times per day for one week

I had given them maybe just a sip of nutrients to them at that point. All had been done with R/O water with a PH of roughly 5.7 Just the first few leaves did this last time as well.

5.7? Way too low. In soil? 7.0 going into soil. Soil buffers down to where the plant needs it.

Honestly don't have enough info to give a solid opinion. Need details.
If there is any specific details that would help you come to an answer, please ask away. All that I find maybe a little aggressive, is when I take them out of their starter dome. It goes from 80 - 90% humidity to 40 - 50%. I do of course let the vent open slowly and allow this to happen over the course of the day or two. I'm not even sure I'm supposed to do that with seeds but I feel like I read it somewhere. They are planted directly into the 1" flushed rockwool cubes and onto a heat mat inside my humidity dome. Once I see roots come through the one inch I plant them into 3" They received a sip of nutrient but mostly just R/O water. Temps are 75-80 during day and 65-70 during night, Can't think of anything else that might help and thank you for your help

Water temp or room humidity. Both can cause twist.
Water temp? I always just concern myself with room temp. Should water temp be roughly the same I would assume? The only thing I might do there is change out the water with colder water but I'm sure it makes room temp within an hour or two. Surely a lot more people would be aware of this if that were the case. Which makes me think I'm doing something wrong with my humidity. Do you guys use a humidity dome when you start with seed? If so when do you start venting?

No domes on anything, ever. Not needed. And if you add 10 gallons of cold water it will take half a day to increase to ambiant temp. Cold is common and misdiagnosed often.
I have 33 years of doing this and many other plants. Water should have a heater in it to keep at 68 degrees. If water is in room with plants it will still be 8 to 12 degrees below ambiant. And even lower if hidden from lights. Water doesn't get as warm in a room. Not open to the air and being pumped and collected.

I thought they were needed for clones? Read somewhere it was useful for starting seeds as well but I will try without next time. My small tub is close to 3 gallons and big tub is only 5 so shouldn't be half a day for ambient temp. As well they are in a cabinet type set up raised half a foot off the floor. I will check the temperature and have a heater if needed. I'm leaning towards the humidity side of this conversation still.

I clone under 1000 watt light and no domes....
Just because others do it doesn't make it right. The plants were under hps or mh light. So why won't the clones take it. Also seeds germinate outside in full sun and live...... Humidity domes make plants weak and then you have to reclimatize them to the real world later.... image.jpg

Thanks for the tip and I'm going to try without next time. My clones did do well in the dome this time it was just the seeds that twisted but seeing the stress it may have put on the babies is enough for me to give it a try without next time around. Once again thank you for your input.

Uh, yur using a soilless medium and watering with RO water...
So, yur plants get nothing from either source. Even worse, RO water can strip nutes from plants (may be where yur def came from, especially since tap has mg in it).
I use RO water, but i never water just straight. Always make sure to add trace minerals to stablize yur waters ph. RO water is VERY sensitive to aaannything. It will pretty much take the ph of whatever comes into contact with it as it moves around cations, ions, etc.
