WB NB!

My gf refuses to eat anything with gravy on it. it always causes mayhem in restaurants, we order without and without fail we have to send it back.

tonight pancetta and shroom risotto.
Haha, i can state first hand what a ballache it is when a customer wants something like that done. It's too often a case of the waiting staf fucking up the ticket, or the kitchen staff just being in too much of a routine and wise up too late. The number of times i've had to shout after a waiter to bring the damned plate back to no avail.

This is a simple thread.

Post what you are having for breakfast lunch, or dinner today. (depending on your time of day)

Tonight I am eating a very simple Tuna submarine sandwich with black olives mayo, black pepper, and tomato, topped off with some banana peppers (semi hot).

So, what's on your menu tonight?
I am making cinnamon raisin cream cheese stuffed French toast. you ladies rember a moment on the lips a life time on the hips.

I think you people dont realize were not talking about just wine or ham. Its intrinsic to our culture. Were talking about an art that has taken centuries! to develop and perfect and not to mention keeping those practices going. Its a way of life for 1000s of people and it annoys me wheni hear people who arent from those regions or probably never even visited crapping out their 2 cents about it.

Just comes off as know-it-all not willing to debate because he can't be wrong.
Sorry that you've never had good ham from Italy, doesn't mean it doesn't exist though, even without the magical wild piggies and their acorns.
I have had good italian ham before dont get me wrong but it can NEVER HAVE the same quality of iberian ham for 2 reasons, breed and feed which are pretty much exclusive to the region. Moreover we go as far as having specific rules and regulamentations for regional denomination of gastronimical products. Thats why i will be a dick when it comes to discussing ham quality. We have always made the best partly due to natural endowment and if you wanna make the best you will simply have to copy period. I personally find most italian ham not fattty enough.

Oh you tooo funny! No I'm one of those bitches that goes for the mid range bottle because I can't really taste or smell shite :) I am only in it for the EToH (alcohol to you unedumacated)!

Ok now go buy a bucket or two of that Portugese rot gut (get me a good port too), by the time 2016/2017 rolls around and I get to Rota it will be just about right for the awful annie to drink! Then we can have this fight in person!
Im sorry about the name calling, just so you know i call all my friends pricks and i didnt mean you are stupidly ignorant in general just about this issue which is uncalled for as well. I just got a bit emotional and didnt mean it really. Dont worry ill make sure you wont ran out of wine and weed. I personally dont like sweet wines so not gonna promise you the best port.

Then you have simply not had the top stuff from Italy. I have no bias on this matter at all, I have had the best hams europe produces and Italians can make stuff of an equal quality. Sorry. The environment, breed, and feed do not make something the best, they make it unique. Unique does not mean best.

Thank you for the apology I just figured we were doing the RIUnian smack talk game, it's all good.

Yeah I'm not really into sweet wines either. I said port because it's fortified :) and I'm about the alcohol when I drink. When I injured my head it altered my sense of smell. So good wines etc.. are a mystery to me. I can tell the difference between dreck and decent but what separates a 20 buck bottle from 200 is lost upon me.

I think you have a point, though i think it depends on the grading criterea taken into consideration. And well yes a ham can be unique but its still a cured pig leg and as such can be categorized in terms of quality.
Im glad you like ham, i reccomend you eat it the way the catalans do on bread with tomato rubbed on it wityh olive oil and tiny bit of salt and the ham on top.

Sounds good, but i rarely mix flavours with ham. It's perfect as it is. One of those tits who eats each item on the plate separately :D I've always prefered individual flavours to combining them. I'd never make a good head chef. I love simple and clean tastes.

Appreciate your understanding!
I have a friend that the exact same thing happened but her sense of taste became a lot more acute! She sould taste what one would smell, pretty trippy.
To be honest i dont think humans have that acute taste and smell to be able to taste the subtle chemical changes from wine to wine. There are certain strains of grape which carry different associated aromas with it, then according to the years crop the enologist needs to choose how much of each strain gets put into the final wine. Most wine producers in iberia carry about 5 to 10 strains of grapw with round 6 being very comunley used and 2 or 3 of them always used. Some of the best wines ive had are single strain wines or double strain wines. People so work with french strains too and imop we have a better climate than them and produce their strains better than they do. Wine pricing depends a heck of a lot on how big a presence it has in international markets and how big or small the harvests were.

Trus man im the kind of guy who eats his beans then his rice. I swear to you the tomato acidity cuts through the fat of the ham and the olive oil just sogs the bread enough to not be too dry and gives it an after taste. @lahadaextranjera how amazing is pan con tomate y jamon???help me out here please!

I haven't had jamon with pan con tomate. Only with tortilla Patatas and it's great! I do use olive oil on bread now. Anyway you know I don't rate the food here. The markets make it a chefs paradise but not everyone is a chef! The bread is crap for starters. I bought some lovely steak last week en el corte ingles and guess what? It was irish beef! :)

Basically it's a form of bruschetta? Never something that hugely appealed to me.

Chefs paradise sounds good to me! Although i've nothing good to say about irish beef from my experience with it. They should stick to potatoes.
