What type of system for aquaponics?

I'm thinking of doing a grow in aquaponics and I was wondering whether you guys think a DWC style would be better or a flood and drain style (using bell siphon)?

Either way I will have a media bed with hydroton, but I mean having the water always be high, or fill up and drain and fill up and drain again.

Or would a drip system be best?

Yeah go ahead man. I figured aquaponics is organic but it's also a form of hydroponics so it probably does fit better there.
Aquaponics is where you put fish in your hydroponics reservoir, and allow the fish shit to fert/nute the plants, and the fish live of the decaying root matter etc, in a closed loop enviro eco system, something still rarely available in the canna world but coming soon, ...lol

Yeah that's what I'm saying. Aquaponics is a form of organic growing, but it is also hydroponics so it can probably fit in either category.

SmerkedOut,

Good to see ppl interested in cultivating our favorite plant this way!

Flood and Drain with a siphon adds the benefit of aerating the root zone and water without the use of an air pump.
The pump will be running constantly so continuous water movement along with pump longevity are to your advantage.
Mineralizing a new system will take some time to establish. Rock dust minerals and some EWC can help speed things up.
K is often lacking in the AP. This is usually due to the fact that the fish food is manufactured with just enough K to sustain
aqua life (fish). I found that fish (I use gold fish) like to eat kelp meal. Maintaining low ammonia levels can be tricky. Moving
bed filtration, cascade filters, K1 or even bio balls will provide the additional surface area needed for nitrifying bacteria to
help with the ammonia.

Dayum brotha! Go for it! Hope this helps.
