Desired plant traits

image.jpg in the pic. Is a cross of Mulanje and Jilly Bean. Both seeds came from the same batch, I just want a confirmation that I am on the correct track. The plant on the right to me is more desirable to me since it is a shorter more compact plant and has less stem between nodes. I am guessing the form of the plant is important to a good strain along with the quality of the flowers and the THC or CBD level.

These have not shown their sex yet but I hope the plant on the right is a female.

I also have. Jilly Bean x Jilly Bean purple that is looking really promising..

Thanks for any advice. I have been growing tropical plants for years but just started growing and breeding these wonderful plants that are helping so many people..

Depends on your particular goals, if this is an indoor strain tight internode spacing and squat structure lead to higher yields and less concern about plant height or growing 6ft worth of lanky sativa for 4 oz where you could have had a 3fttall indica yield upwards of 12 oz but if growing outdoors in a tropical climate a lanky sativa with loose buds will yield where a super dense indica may get botrytis early on and ruin your whole plant, so basically boils down to personal preference, if you like the short one keep it if not scrap it but you can only judge 1/2 the plants traits without flowering who knows maybe the short one will stretch ridiculous and the tall one not move an inch, guess well just have to see right? :)

This is true, one, both or none may turn out to be crap in the THC dept.. I actually live in So. california, my handle is where I plan to retire one day..
It is very interesting the variations you can get from the same seeds off the same plant.. Truly is a crap shoot when mom and dad get down and produce some seeds.. Shows the male is also important for form and structure..
