Anyone make bubble anymore?

I've never been able to get dry ice extraction to melt, it always burns. I'm saving up trim for my first bubble run, I have just short of an ounce of trim of cheese and am just going to mix it in with trim from a couple other strains I have going once they finish.

How dry is it? I don't smoke bubble til it's totally dry.. usually 4 or 5 days.. sometimes more? You should be able to tell just by testing it.. taste will be a dead giveaway if it's wet still..

Prove it. Show us a 70% pure dry sift that melts and bubbles.

Resin glands melt. Capitate stalks and green matter do not. This is pretty simple stuff.

I've been making 95-99% sift since around 2003 the same way.. and it's always been full melt. It's only when you start getting dirty sift it starts to just caramel up and burn.

If there are strains out there that can go to 99% purity and not melt, they aren't very common, or you would see that being the case left and right with people making hash. Last I checked, pretty much *everyone* who was growing fire was getting full melt out of their bags and such.

Purity absolutely does matter.. if it didn't, people wouldn't bother with multiple bags or methods of acquiring clean medicine. They would just use the 220 bag and then dump it all into the 73 or whatever.. YIELD!!!

Purity does play a part, and if you do not believe so then I suggest you explain exactly why, because this is simple.

I didn't say anything about purity now did I . Don't put words in my mouth! I said melting has nothing to do with quality. Its about the soluble oil terpenes. Every well known hash maker knows this. Even Matt Rize has stated this several times. There's plenty of strains that will not melt. Purity is about having no contaminants not melting.. I've had full melt hash that was never cleaned full of plant matter. As hash like that cures the plant matter breaks down. So your whole thing about purity is irrelevant to melting and bubbling. Now when you mix strains of trim or buds. Its less likely to melt because different strains have different terpene profiles.

okay, im way off its only been almost 24 hours. Its such a small piece though its small enough to fall down the hole of the pipe so I am gonna try it just for science!

you want to let it cure for about 6 weeks for the terpenes.
Yikes!! sounds like a long time but you know what my man, I am just going to have to wait to smoke the good stuff. Do you cure in jars just like normal dank or do you use something else?

Normal jars . I use the small 4 oz jars. Glass on glass or mason jars. They're pretty cheap at walmart. You don't need special jars to block UV. There's only one type of glass that UV can pass through. Its the same glass induction bulbs are made with. All other glass, when UV light hits glass it converts to IR light.

Most people consider purity = quality. Some do not. Semantics.

Any hash maker also knows that the cleaner the hash is, the better the smoke will be. Right? Or are we all after dirty bubble hash and such? See what I mean?

If there are -plenty- of strains that will not melt, where are they? When I take year and two year old outdoor that's not been well cared for, and make sift out of total garbage.. guess what? It melts. I have never run into a strain in 12 ish years of doing this dry sift method of mine and not had it be full melt.

If you wanna wait 3-4 months for your hash to 'bubble' then you go right ahead.. that's not what most people are after.. will it work? Sure. That's why there aren't systems out there to make dirty hash on purpose.. lol.

Why do you cherry pick certain parts and try to twist it around ? Are you arguing for the sake of arguing?

Yes we are after clean hash. My point was purity and melting have nothing to do with each other. Now every hash maker cure their hash for at least 6 weeks. Shit, Matt Rize cures his ice wax for a minimum of 9 months. Frenchy even had some 5 year cured hash at Chalice. Bubbleman man had his famous 10 year cured hash. Just like with buds the longer you cure the better the flavor. Most people want that long cured hash, ice wax or buds. For one the terpenes polymerize and also decarboxilation takes place. Causing the release of co2 gases and the thca converting to thc and break down of chlorophyll.Curing for a long time is a major part of the growing, hash making and ice wax making process. Not curing is just plain stupid and waste of a grow.

Go ahead and don't cure your stuff. No one will want to smoke it.

Btw candy kush will not melt.

all i can say at 240 am is that i know there isnt any pesticides or growth hormones added to my stuff so i can trust it. i have bad lungs using a breathing machine as i type this. some asshole started a huge ass fire and weve got fog like smoke hovering above our cars outside. sucks to not have the lungs of a healthy swimmer but it just means that i have to know what im smokinf and if im ready to take it.

Would you say to cure for 6 weeks to make edibles too? with the 160

A couple of tips for making the bubble hash. First use a paint mixer on a drill to mix/dislodge the trichomes it is very efficient. Secondly on the curing, put your hash in the freezer uncovered for several hours and then take it out and let it sit for a few hours, repeat for several days. The freezer will pull the moisture from the center and it will crystallize on the surface and setting it out allows the moisture to evaporate. When there is no more ice crystals it is done. :weed:

You really should try something more gentle than a mixer Caretaker, you would be surprised by the results.
Is it drying or curing you do in your freezer?

For edibles no need to cure. they will decarb as they cook and like Frenchy said your liver will do all the work.

That sucks about the fire and being hard to breathe. I don't have lung issues. but out here in the low desert we do get sand storms from gnarly wind. There's sand everywhere. Its almost impossible to breathe outside and even hard to keep my eyes open then. I wrap a shirt around my face when I take out the trash , get mail or do laundry (on my patio) when we have that gnarly wind. So i can understand it being hard to breathe so to speak.. When it ends . The next day I have to clean all the outdoor plants covered in dirt and sand.

oh man, at least the fire will get extinguished. Your sand storms sound pretty damn bad I don't think i could survive there LOL!!!

Usually my lungs are fine, but theres something that is in that smoke that is just closing me down immediately. Like someones standing on my chest and stabbing me with a finger in the side of the head at the same time.

Again I love you guys and appreciate all the advice, the hanging out in the thread everything. I hope to one day meet ya'll in person and have something special for you.

Luckily its not windy like that all the time. We had a week straight 3 different times in mid summer. Then a few days ago it was a light sand storm. More hazy than clear. Pretty much its dry heat. Clear skies and barely rains here. Even though we had a gnarly 7 inches of rain in 6 hours 2 weeks ago. Its so hot outside right now. Its 104 F and 12% humidity and clear skies.

If purity has nothing to do with melting how come the food grade bags of bubble do not melt the same as the smoke bag grades of the exact same strain, eh? You have an explanation for that or are you just going to ignore the OBVIOUS fact that this is true?

Green matter does not melt. Does it? Nor do capitate stalks.. DO THEY? No, so your argument about purity not mattering is complete and utter bullshit, but we already knew that.

Dry sift is made from dry material that's usually already been aged for weeks and/or months. Lol.

And who said I don't cure it? The point is you DO NOT NEED TO, dry sift has already been curing for a long time before it's ever made, it's not fresh off the plant wet like most hash makers are doing, get a grip.

Sure, you can cure dry sift for years.. to what end? To prove to people you can stick something in the freezer and make it a bit more potent? Congrats *clap*. I don't care if it's been cured for 9 months or a year, and nor do the people judging contests around the globe as the majority of those hashes are made a month or two prior to cup events and then entered and they still win over anything else that's been entered.

I love how you continue to bitch about 'chlorophyll breaking down' though.. uhh.. exactly how much of that do you see in my pictures? 1%? 2% total in some of them? I'm not going to wait a year or more to enjoy something that's already basically as pure as it's going to get, lol.

I've saved dry sift for 2 years and 3 years before and the flavor and potency was basically identical, there is no point to sit on it any longer. If you think so, you go right ahead.

Fwiw, Kandy Kush (if it's the same strain) was originally from here in Oakland at the 3rd floor.. it was trainwreck x og kush, and yes, lol.. the resin melted just fine.

I've never made sift that didn't full melt at that purity.. but I guess somewhere out there apparently are tons of strains that won't melt when making hash..and for some odd reason you people continue to grow them and pass them around.. hmm
