i start them in paper towels first so that i can guarantee germination. then ii gently place them into rapid rooters
Yeah, that's the best method, IMO.
But for some reason the Super Silver Haze won't germinate..
EDIT: I've been told by Seedsman that they will send me more Super Silver Haze seeds. They're super!

yea good im glad ur getting it rectified. sometimes seeds just wont germinate. plants man. i havent killed a clone in years but i still get seeds that wont germinate quite frequently

It can take a while sometimes, try raising your temperatures some. Paper towel method means a lot more handling required. But to each their own.

Which breeder were they from? They could just be old or poorly stored seeds. I use jiffy pellets in a humidity dome under a germination mat and have good results. If the seeds are old I may soak them in a shot glass for a day or so. I save my paper towels for cleaning up spills.
Well, besides the SSH, I've had a 100% germination rate using paper towels.
The breeder, according to Seedsman is GREENHOUSE SEED CO.

I know a lot of people swear by the paper towel method, but if they pop in a towel, they will pop in soil. There is a risk of damaging your seedling when transporting from a paper towel. I agree with og, higher temps could help. Some seeds can take a while too, especially sativas. My caribe seeds took a week before the first one was above soil.
Thanks, but there's something about seeing that the seed germinated that I like. I've failed too many cloning attempts to have faith that it will eventually pop out of the soil.

I put them in water and let em sit for 24hrs. Then into rockwool cubes and/or peat pellets. I prefer rockwool as you can easily see how they are progressing. Much less handling. Sativa seeds can benefit from higher temperatures on germination, well above 80F. You should do that and see what happens IMO.

I have great success with just popping them in those peat pods or in the root riot cubes, I don't fuck around with cups of water or paper towels as I know I am clumsy and don't want to have the guilty feeling of killing a little babey

Ive found more often that not that sativas take longer and need warmer temps to pop. I had one take 14 days to crack
