do you know what kind of pepper it was? I know of a couple peppers that have to be grown in the shade to fruit.

cool thread cbtbudz! gotta know, what do you do with the trinindad scorpions? i grow tobasco peppers and i think they're hot (love 'em). i think they're about 50,000 on the Scoville scale and the scorpions are over 1,000,000. damn that's hot! keep the thread going. GL

i made hot sauce, and have just ate them. I just ate my first carolina reaper pepper. Now that was intense. 2 glasses of milk and the burn still came through. Was quite a bit hotter than the trinidad scorpion pepper, but the burn didnt last as long. I am going to dry them out save some seeds and make pepper flakes.

recently i saw an article about the caroling reaper. ten feet is about as close to a reaper as i'll get!

I couldn't understand his accent but it looks like a mini cherry pepper shape and red color. However it's a hot pepper grown in Mexico

Hell yeah fellow pepper growers. I dont got any of those fucking fire hot peppers but i got a nice selection of 4 foot tall plants started in April (Jalapeno, Habanero, Cayenne, Bananas, Cajun Bell, Arbol and Pequin). Expecting around 350 bottles of hot sauce by the end of it all. If I could only grow ganja like peppers :(

here are some pics from this month. lol i should take after i water not before. So hot here stays in the 100+ during the days and low 78-82f at night. I am in the worst area effected by the drought this year. We need some delta water!

Youve got a nice wee back yard. You should consider making a small greenhouse to keep a few summer plants in winter.
This year im risking a bit dedicating half my land to quinoa, i really hope it turns out well as ive no fucking clue if im doing it right.
Also foliar your plants once or twice a week with compost tea and youll see them shine!

how did the quinoa turn out ??? i was thinking about running alot of it and amaranth next spring ? and was wondering how easy it is to maintain ??

@SpaaaceCowboy it was really good, i just used it for dipping tortilla chips and on some fish tacos. It was way hot. the recicpe called for a cup of the scorps but i used just 1. I was going to get my peppers tested this year but none of my superhots( trinidad scorpion or carolina reaper) were done at the right time. Anyone that entered their peppers in the county fair would get them tested by the local university.

mmm...sounds good...Ya I'd say good call on only using one of those peppers...A whole cup of scorpions ? That sounds like it would be insane....I bet not too many people could stand that heat.

Well I got the new back yard started. just some random pics of the over 40 different Vegetables and herbs from the garden. This year 3 different pepper plants made it through winter in containers with no protection from the elements. First pic is part of the area I tilled up the grass and amended slightly. Then roses, strawberries, red and green leaf lettuce, san Mateo tomato, and black prince pepper.

More pics of the vegis and herbs.Been quite warm here. Today 89f and tomorrow will be 92f and its only march.roses, Sierra Nevada chilleno, radish, yellow bell pepper, basil, cilantro, squash, pineapple sage.

And more..black prince, san marzano tomato, strawberries, sun gold tomato, green leaf lettuce with a experimental compost watering system, red leaf lettuce, green tomatillo, blue lake bush beans, and bitter melons.
